We also have a few nice Rose anemones, Blue Globe Urchins and Staghorn hermit crabs. Our coral shipment this week featured a few impressive pieces like a green Pearl coral, a green Montipora, a couple colorful Open Brains, a blue tipped Acropora and many more. The coral of the week is the exotic Sea Fan with blue polyps. WHAT'S ON SALE Seachem Silver Shores substrate is 10% off this weekend. Rose Anemones are also 10% off. We still have a wide variety of corals whose prices have been slashed to $25. Garlic additives are 15% off. DID YOU KNOW? As the seasons start changing, temperature fluctuations start to become a problem. This is about the time Ich outbreaks become prevalent. The best way to ensure that the tank water is heated correctly is to have two heaters that are about three to five watts per gallon. It is important to have a reliable thermometer that displays the temperature accurately. Cooling the tank is a completely different problem that usually involves getting a chiller. Some good ways to help prevent Ich from occurring is to make sure that the heaters are working properly since they most likely will have to start working a lot more now. Dosing garlic in the fishes' food is another good way to help prevent Ich outbreaks. If the fish do end up getting Ich as the weather gets colder, we have a few medications that can work on getting rid of the Ich as well as some good tips on a course of treatment on getting your fish healthy again. That's it for this week. Have a good weekend and Ta-Ta for now! -Kristen Lau Assistant Manager The Marine Scene www.marinescene.com
