Gatortailale September 3, 2004 Share September 3, 2004 Howdy Hobbyists, WHAT'S NEW A shipment of captive bred fish came in on Thursday including Goldline Gobies and a Hippopus Clam. In Tuesday's fish shipment we received a small but beautiful Emperor Angel. Thursday brought us 50 new corals including an extra large Ridge Hammer Coral, a few Fire Corals, and a nice Plate Coral. Moonlight add-on fixtures are back in stock. WHAT'S ON SALE Fighting Conchs are 20% off this weekend. Select and Standard grade Mushroom rocks are all 10% off. All Atlantic Anemones (Condylactis and Flower) are 20% off. DID YOU KNOW? Did you know that all baby clown fish are males? Clownfish are known as Protandrous Hermaphrodites. This means that the sex of the fish changes over time from male to female. In the case of Clowns, the fish pair up or form groups in which there is only one female (the larger and more dominate fish). If the female dies she will be replaced with the largest male and the new female will continue to lead the group. This is why in a typical pair of clownfish, one of the fish is always larger than the other; she's the female. Do you know what sex your Clownfish are? Have a great Labor Day weekend. See you soon. -Kristen Lau The Marine Scene Assistant Manager Retail Sales 293 Sunset Park Drive Herndon, Virginia 20170 703.689.2815 www.marinescene.com If you no longer wish to receive this e-mail, please respond to the message.
