Stu September 14, 2009 Share September 14, 2009 Does length of airline tubing matter when using an Aqualifter? I know height matters, but will the actual distance the water has to travel matter? I would like to put my top off container in my closet to hide it and stretch the tubing along the floorboard to my sump. Will this work? The tubing will go about 8 feet or so along the ground, but will only have to lift a foot and a half vertically to go into the sump.
ctenophore September 14, 2009 Share September 14, 2009 You'll have some flow loss due to friction but I suspect it won't matter much in this case. Give it a try, it should work. If it doesn't work with airline, you might try increasing to 3/8" ID tubing right after the aqualifter for the run to the sump.
