Bendalat May 8, 2003 May 8, 2003 Hello all, I'm planning to buy a RO/Di system. Could you tell me which one is a good one? I saw Marine Depot sell a RO/DI unit from Kent Marine. Is this one good? If good/bad then how good/bad is it compare to the others (Could you give me the "others" names too)? Thank you very much. Ben.
michaelg May 8, 2003 May 8, 2003 IMO the kent brand, as it is targeted to the hobby is way overpriced. I picked up a 4 stage 75gpd unit for a little over a hundrend including shipping. IMO hunt around e-bay or there are several good alternatives that are sponsors at reefcentral.com and reefs.org. The majority of the units use filmtec membranes. Find one with a DI unit as well and a high GPD rate. Else if you can find a used one cheap, you can just buy the new cartridges and a membrane. I posted a while back of a good source that I found in OH. Michael
JMsAquarium May 8, 2003 May 8, 2003 Here's the one I recently bought. The price is decent compared to Kent and others. http://www.airwaterice.com/Typhoon%20lll.htm

michaelg May 8, 2003 May 8, 2003 This link might be useful in making a descision. It shows a DIY project, but gives you the run down on what is contained in a unit... http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=174377
