If anybody has the tool and time, I would appreciate if someone could build me a diy protein skimmer for my nano or if they have one that they can donate, that would be cool. O would first use it in my sceince fair and then transfer it to my nano.

I've seen some simple designs based on 2-liter soda bottles and an airpump.  Have you done a google search, looked over our links, and hunter through reefcentral yet?  The first skimmer I made was mostly from parts collected in dumpsters on building sites, a power drill, and a hacksaw.  Took a little ingenuity, but that's what made it fun.

Be sure you check out this link . Page 13 has the final design. I made one and it seemed to work pretty well. All you need to make one is a small pump, some weldon 03, an aplicator bottle, an acrylic/plastic knife, some 1/8" acrylic, a few drill bits and a little cpvc.
