DIY micro baffle

Ok here's necessity spawns invention for you.  I have a 10 gallon sump (can't go bigger), but am concerned about bubbles going into my return line.  The sump isn't big enough for the drain lines, skimmer, skimmer pump, heater, etc, and baffles like they are normally done.  I also don;t want to put foam over the bulkhead going to the pump.  So, I chopped up some acrylic, and glued it together with silicon like so:

 

/|____<==|     The angle should deflect bubbles upwards away the arrow is a screen for the bulkhead.......  I did not glue the whole thing to the tank in case the skimmer doesn't fit, or it doesn't work.  I will shoot some pics of it that should make it easier to tell what I am trying to do.
