m3fan8ic September 15, 2008 September 15, 2008 I bought a brand new pinpoint wireless thermometer not too long ago and since then my water temps are reading around 83+ sometimes it shows 85F, 85.7F etc. Even at night time when my lights are off around midnight that is. I know for sure that my water temps is not that high otherwise my fish and corals will show. (I know it's not the best way to tell but I can tell that it's not that high) I had the probe in the sump initially which is in the basement and temps kept it around 84 85F, since then I moved it in my display tank to see if there are any change in temp it just fluctuates from 85 and almost 86F.. I am not running any chiller and currently have t-5 open canopy with extra 2x3" fans running above the water. My house temps are 73F. I'll try to run a test by placing probe under tap water, hot and cold to see what's going on, but I think it might be a faulty probe/sensor. Anyone else noticed anything like this from this thermometer?
steveoutlaw September 15, 2008 September 15, 2008 They suck. Mine was anywhere from 2 to 7 degrees off. I just bought one of the old glass thermometers and put it in the tank. Much more consistent.
traveller7 September 15, 2008 September 15, 2008 I had 4 remotes and the monitor.....they live in the trash. Intermittent, inaccurate, and a down right inconvenience.
