Tee June 16, 2008 Share June 16, 2008 Hi all, The pump for my Berlin HO Skimmer is pumping water really weak. I am not sure if this is because of the impeller goes bad or what. How can you tell if the impeller of a pump goes bad? Thanks Tee
GaryL June 16, 2008 Share June 16, 2008 if its not pullin air then take the air line off the barb. then run like a paper clip down into the hole to see if there is any blockage by salt creep.. hth G
Tee June 16, 2008 Author Share June 16, 2008 I took everything apart, including the impeller to clean it. It's still pump very little water. There is no blockage by salt or sand.... Tee Did you make sure the impeller is spinning freely on the shaft, sometimes calcium deposits can get between the impeller shaft and impeller. To clean the shaft, pull the rubber ends off the impeller shaft and slide the impeller off, soak it all in vinegar for a while.

I used Q-tip to clean the deposit stuff from the pump wall, where it hold the impeller. I will try to soak it in Vinegar, and see if it help. Thanks a lot for the tip,, Tee
