rsarvis April 15, 2007 April 15, 2007 i was giving an iodine bath to some frags i just bought and noticed a few tiny serpent-star-fish-like creatures in the mix after shaking the corals. they look just like teeny tiny serpent starfishes. do you think that's what they are? do they often hang out on corals? is there any chance they're something bad? if not, and if the brief iodine bath didn't kill 'em, any reason i shouldn't just throw them into the tank? okay, maybe it looks more like teeny tiny grey bristle starfish. i don't know my starfish... in any case, 5 long thin arms, disc center. they moved pretty quick.
Prunfarm April 15, 2007 April 15, 2007 Were the frags mounted? They may have come from the rock or plugs frags were mounted on. I have many of these stars, and as I understand, they are good detrivores.
stevil April 15, 2007 April 15, 2007 I have a bunch in my tank. They have never harmed anything that I can tell.
