Does it matter which "red" wire goes to what red socket on the ballast; "blue" wire to blue socket, "yellow" to yellow socket???

I got in a hurry, and unhooked the wiriing from the ballasts (testing, pre-layout, prior to the physically installation to my canopy).

Once I installed my end-caps, ran all the wiring in the wire loom and tied it down, I didn't label each wire, so I could tell each one apart; like which blue wire was on what side of the end-cap, etc..

I randomly placed them in the ballasts and the lights light up.

I was wondering if the ballasts are "intelligent"? Is all that matters are the blue wires on one end of the 1st bulb, red to the second bulb and yellow to the other end??

the two red wires (or any color coming off your standard bigname ballasts) are equivalent... the idea is that you are creating a loop...

Dave

Was just hoping this is no issue.

I have all the blues going where they are supposed to be.. red, yellow the same..

But since it was such a tangled mess, I had to put it all in wire loom so I could run the wire..

So, it doesn't matter where each blue wire is hooked up to, as long as they are placed in the blue sockets on the ballasts? (same with the red & yellow)
