TROLL March 13, 2007 March 13, 2007 I'm getting really frustrated trying to catch a Bicolor Pseudochromis in my reef tank- I don't want to change aquascape, move anything or aggravate the residents. Been trying to trick him by having food in net, bottle fishtrap by Dhoch, using mirror to get him fight himself and distracted by net. This SOB is really hard for me to catch! He's harassing all fishes in my tank, beating up my six-line wrasse and refuse to leave him alone. If anyone have better method or can come by, you can have him- kill him, hang him, dry him out by the sun etc. I don't care, he's making me really mad.

When I need to trap a swimmer I feed him in or next to a large net every day for a week. Then, when he's good and comfortable with the net, on day 7 or so, I skip one feeding and then in the next feeding I spring the trap. Good luck.
TROLL March 13, 2007 Author March 13, 2007 He's driving me crazy... I caught bicolor blenny the same way, only took me like 10 mins. Looks like I'll have to train him to accept net being in promoxity then trap the sucker. Hopefully, he'll fall for it by tomorrow morning, poor six-line is taking it most than others... Pseudo didn't really cared for any other new fishes that is smaller, it looks like he's targeting six-line mainly. I have placed a cluster of large barnacles in case he start to like the place and use it for his bed- I'll take it out if he's in there during the night.
TROLL March 17, 2007 Author March 17, 2007 This fish is Satan in digustishing- been trying net trick everyday and he still never came close to be caught. This fish has IQ of 160! He has managed to evade traps and net. I'm now offering $20 to anyone who catch him- HE NEED TO BE CAUGHT ASAP! He's harassing my fishes and my six-line won't come out. Glass Cardinals refused to come out either!
Rascal March 18, 2007 March 18, 2007 Have you tried fishing? I have never tried it myself but I have read about it and seems like it would work for an aggressive carnivore if all other methods failed. From what I have read you just use lightest line and smallest (barbless) hook you can find, then dangle it in the tank with a bit of mysis or something.
TROLL March 18, 2007 Author March 18, 2007 I am going to do that soon- been planning that. I can't find the smallest hook- I would have to look through my fishing stuff and see if I can find shad hooks. I think he'll definitely fall for that. Right now, I'm crafting a small trap that rest on bottom of tank with net on the bottom so he couldn't see the net itself..
