Aqualux going out of business

Recenetly, I've decided to go with T-5 set-up for my 120g, 5' long and was looking on internet for good deal. I came across a site that sells 80w T-5 60", Aqualux Site has best price on bulbs out of all other on-line stores. On front page, Aqualux says it's going out of business due to loss of key partner.

 

So, if ya'all are looking for great deal- the shipping is cheap, too!

FYI, their credit card processing seems to be having trouble but can still order with money order/check. I've placed my order with money order.

Keep in mind that the "key partner" they lost might be the bank that was underwriting their loan. Dealing with any business on a pay first, wait for item basis always carries some risk. Dealing with the same company when you know for sure that they will not be around in a few days or weeks is very risky.

 

You can sometimes recoup your losses if the payment is made by credit card but money orders and checks are the same as cash - no one will be there to help you get it back if they do not ship the product or if it is defective. It comes down to how much risk you are willing to accept but I would not touch this one with a 10 foot pole. JMHO

I haven't sent in money order- today's Sunday, thankfully! I'm await to hear from them to finalize the order. If everything seems antsy then I'll just go to other on-line store and spend a bit more.

They aint that much cheaper anyway. Go with a place not going out of business.

You can find the same or better deals from established companies. Like YBeNormal, wouldn't touch this unless they accept a credit card. Most likely you will have delivery problems as the owner is now focusing on future income from another source. 2c.

One other issue is returns... what if your bulbs arrive damaged? Will they refund or replace? Can you be certain?

makes me laugh when thinking of t-5 users getting box of broken lamps. Very rarely do you ever hear of MH lamps arriving broken. Just another reason in my mind to stick with MH.

Ohhh I get them shipped, just a follow up to the comment about dealing with a company going out of business... I've also gotten them at BRk, but that can be a pain as well as John doesn't stock the 5' models, and he has to get them shipped...

In that in mind, what's prices on those lights at BRK?
