Caribbean Jake September 15, 2004 Share September 15, 2004 Hi everyone I currently have a light fixture with three MH 175W mogule sockets. I wonder if I can keep the wiring, suckets and just replace the ballasts (transformer & capacitor) and upgrade them to a 250 or 400 W and replace the bulbs? Caribbean Jake September 15, 2004 Author Share September 15, 2004 If that is the case, I can buy the ballasts for less than $55 each and do them my self. They are magnetic ballasts by the way. Jacob

michaelg September 15, 2004 Share September 15, 2004 I would recommend some sort of enclosure for them. An exposed ballast scares the heck out of me. I found a junction box that worked great for $10 at an electrical/lighting store. Check the thread that tony has in the DIY section I think to make sure you get the correct ballast. chideloh September 16, 2004 Share September 16, 2004 Jacob works for a electrical company so I don't think you have to worry about that, Michael.
