dhoch October 7, 2006 Share October 7, 2006 From Pat_13: I am going to have a How-to and hands on class at my house for $30. It will include a basic demo/how-to followed by making your own rock. It will make ~20lbs of rock. It will be held in Bowie, MD on Sunday October 29 at 1pm. The basic rock mix is included (enough cement and a bag of crushed oyster shells for the mix and to shape in). You will need to bring a 5G pail, something to mix it with, and a Rubbermaid tub (~18G or a few 5G would work, but smaller rocks) to form and take your rocks home. After the rock hardens, you can then use the tub to kure (in water) the rock until it is ready to add to your tank. Note the final product will be ~45 lbs if done in one tub, a lot less if done in multiple 5Gs. If you are not able to take it home, I will have some space to keep them for later pickup. Once the rock is un-molded, it will be lighter without the extra crushed OS. Additional mix can be purchased, but let me know ahead of time so I will have it on hand.
