I am happy with what I got as each box contained fish food and one metal halide bulb ( 1 Hamilton Technology 175 watt 14K and one 250 Watt 10K.) Also two 28 Watt PC 6700K( I was planning to buy one for a refug bulb).

I also got a really nice coffee table book called Secret Sea by Burt Jones and Haurine Shimlock.

If this group by comes around again I will certainly be in for a box or two again.

Now looking to trade the 250watt 10k for another 175 watt. Color or brand does not matter.

    David

I have a 175w bulb i think is 65k that in my crap o box. Want to trade?

  2. i just ordered a 36" aquactinics fixture yesterday... i'll post a review in the review section when it's up.

i'm excited. if it works well i'll get one for my 20 frag setup as well, that's got PCs on it right now.

    Hey Charlie

Where did you order a aquactinics fixture from? Do you have the links? I want to look in to it. Cause i heard Bob (YbeNormal) said its a good T5 fixture.

  3. I think it depend on how many T5 bulb over your tank. The more the better. I have a NOVA 36" which only 4 bulbs 2 blue and 2 daylight. So i don't really trust it. So is there anyway to over-drive the T5?

I personally like MH but i am worry about heat issue to my tank size.

    Andy

I absolutely disagree. This is a high output T5 fixture. Granted individual reflectors would increase the light output, but even with the single reflector this light far outperforms PC lighting. You should be able to keep SPS and Clams on your sandbe no problem. I had a similar fixture on a 26g bowfront (24" tall) and I kept SPS and a Clam on the sandbed.

  4. Sorry to hear that you have to take down your system. I know you did put alot of hard work to this system. What can i help ?

Well, life has a way of changing one's plans. Due to personal reasons, (it's all good), I will be taking down the tank and sell everything. I will be posting a list of all the equipment, live stock and miscellaneous stuff by the end of today but wanted to give folks a heads up. Some things are already spoken for but most things will be available.

I would like to begin the sale and pick up of things starting this Saturday night and all day Sunday. This will be a cash sale only, please.

I thank you all in advance for your support and friendship while being a member of WAMAS.

I would think if you just ran a single mogul with a good reflector (I like the PFO parallel for this application) with 4x36 t-5's and 4x36 vho or 2 of each you would be happy. You can run all 4 of those bulbs mix and match with a icecap 660 ballast. You'd probably be safe with a 4x24 kit and stagger the bulbs as well and then you could get by with a 440 ballast and save some dough.

How am i put all these lights in my canopy? Where to get a good PFO parallel reflecter?

The 65 is a couple inches taller than the 58... So just put your lights up a couple of inches higher, and you'll have a reef tank that looks just like Copps'!

    bob

  7. I have a Nova Extreme T5 36" fixture total 156w over my 21" tall tank.

My question is it ok to keep SPS and Clams with that fixture? Enough light?

If ok can i put SPS in such a 2 months old tank?

    Thank you in advance.

  8. Don't ask me why now, after 4 months, this suddenly occurred to me.

How does the water in my 24-gallon Aquapod get oxygenated??

The water goes through some holes in one side of the back of the tank. There is a foam filter in there - it then just 'fills up' the back part of the tank, and a small powerhead pumps it back into the main part of the tank through a hole with a 'spreader' over it to adjust direction of water flow. That's it. It never 'falls' through an overflow or anything like that - splashing the water around and getting bubbles in it. It just goes around in circles.

    ???????????????

    bob

    Same boat :(

I have a aquapod 12g that i just setup, does the same thing it doesn't skim the surface of the water. That 's suck :hammer:
