  1. Have been running two Evergrow IT2040's with custom LED configuration, over a 120 gal. mostly SPS tank, since January 2013. Started at about 20% and ramped up to 100% over the first couple of weeks as I recall. After that I switched to the default factory mode at half-hour steps. Total cycle is 16 hours. Takes 6 hours to ramp up to 100% blue and white, first three hours are blue only,; then its at 100% for 4 hours; then ramps down to 0ff over the next 6 hours, the last three blue only. Haven't done any PAR measurements, but verything grows very well.

  2. Yup, put it right on the glass, sit the rock on the egg crate, and cover it with the sand...the egg crate not all the rock  It spreads out the load from the rock, but more important, I think, is it keeps from having any pressure points on the glass from uneven rock surfaces. The rock is also more stable, since critters can't really undermine it.

  3. The fish think the net means food, because I use it to feed frozen mysis (I thaw the mysis under hot water in the net, so the net of course becomes the serving scoop). I gently move the net through the tank very gradually letting pieces of mysis escape from it. The fish follow the net around to get the food, rather than dash away from it.

Now that's a great idea...can't believe I never thought of doing this to feed frozen.

  4. Thanks to all the sponsors for the great raffle items, the officers that organized everything, members that helped out, and Ken Feldman for the very informative talk. Together you all made for another fun and informative meeting.

  5. Hey Elaine...Really enjoyed the swap yesterday and meeting you and the other members of MDRC. My son and I had a fun time and brought home some nice new additions to my tank. The one coral you got from me is a Green "Halo" Pocillopora Damicornus, the other is a Blue Hawaiian Hydnophora from a frag I got years ago, supposedly from Charles Delbeek's tank at the Waikiki Aquarium...no way to ever confirm that, but it sounds good

Thanks again for a fun day.
