  1. How about my issues of "The Marine Aquarist" in black and white from 1972?

Paul, WOW! Just read your profile: "SCUBA diver since 1970, Viet Nam Vet, Retired construction electrician in NYC. Lisenced boat Capt. , Aquariums since the fiftees, salt since 1971.

My 100 gallon reef was set up in 1972 and is still running. Mostly soft corals.

I am currently breeding three pairs of gobies, a pair of Bangai cardinals, bluestripped pipefish and clown gobies.

I have one patent for a reef fish feeder and have published articles in three aquarium magazines."

Very impressive. Based on your 38 yrs of reefing, you are my nominee for "WAMAS member emeritus."

  2. Steve, how did you mount that thing? Whatever you did, you did a good job.

Thanks. I used two cable ties.

BTW, these are available in about 4 or 5 colors. I try and use black, if/when available.

  3. I dont have exp with that, but there are many other cheaper alternatives. Now that summer is approaching, the stores should be getting various fans in stock.

I use 4" fans from Target. Last year they were about $6. This year they are $8. They last about 1 year.

  4. I'm prob. gonna have issues w/breakers once I set up my system. It seems fairly easy to trip the breakers in the basement, where I'm going to be it setting up. Now I know I could go with a a bigger breaker but, how big can I go w/out burning wires? Seem like the biggest breaker in the panel for downstairs is 15 amps... The prob. IMPO Is That they "daisy chsined" way to many things together on one breaker... The reason I think so is: When you trip the breaker, almost every plug in the basement(except one) goes out.. Any "sparkie's" out there? Let's hear some thought's, suggestions ,answers, whatever you got.

    Thanks, Will.

Hmm.. I had a simialr situation all the outlets in the Den were on the same (too small) circuit. I ran a licensed electrician run a couple of dedicated outlets -- one for the tank and one for the space heater. Steve

  5. - The Marine Scene & AQUACO (as mentioned above, very close to each other)

    - Natural History Museum in D.C.

comment -- In my view, the Marine Scene is the best in the DC area. However, frankly, they may be also be the most expensive and therefore (again, in my view) is not that popular within the WAMAS board where we thrive on group buys for livestock and drygoods.
