reef hunter. it sounds as if you have the older version of the GSA Kalk reactor. I have both and was very happy with the old one and like the improvements made on the new version. In the new version the motor is sealed and I was told the motor is more reliable then the old stirrer. Dan refurbed my old one recently with a new motor but I plan on selling that one because I like using the new product. They have both been excellent products as far as I am concerned. The new reactor has a different stirrer and because of this the RO water in can come in closer to the bottom of the reactor. The new reactor is a bit smaller then the old one. If you are looking at Deltec I would strongly consider the new GSA reactor. I think you will be happy with them. Just my opinion.

Cant you put the money in trust( I thinkthat is what it is called) so an intermediary holds the money until you recieve the tank?

Does the pond foam stick to the PVC? When you put the pond foam on did you then sprinkle sand and pieces of rock in the foam?

Hey Stu,
I love the way it looks. Now that it looks like I will be in our house for a bit longer.(The house we wanted to buy got sold). I want to build something like that for my 90 so I can set up the corals I am keeping. I am thinking of using a piece of large diameter PVC as the center and work out with the foam and some rock on the branches. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I agree with Bruce. Also when you re-aquascape tangs tend to get stressed and can often hit or rub against things when the aquascaping is different.

I never did use gloves until I got hit with that toxin about a month ago. Now I wear dish washing gloves and even after that if I think I feel anything I rinse the H-E-double hockey sticks out of my hands with soap. I have become a bit paranoid.

This is so impressive. Also a great opportunity for other members to learn from what you are doing. You mention that most of the corals cant take the full sun, does this include the SPS? I figured many of them are in pretty shallow water and sometimes even protrude at times from the ocean.

Welcome to WAMAS. Location is helpful. I say this becuase in my experience one of the best ways to learn is to go over other peoples places and ask about their setup. Often you can see ideas that you incorporate into your setup
-
What exactly are you dealing with? Is it a power head or pump? what type?
-
I got 50 and will be happy to sell about 35. .90 per magnet. They stick on my 210 but I am not sure how well they will stick with a frag on it. I am going to try within the next 2 days. I think any glass thinner then the 210 would hold very well and they may be fine for my tank I just am not sure yet.
-
Thanks everyone for the offers. After talking with a friend and fellow WAMAS member I have decide to do this differently. Since I have some big plans for my next custom tank, I think I am going to sell most of my stuff. I will keep a couple of frags of some of the corals I really like but other then that people can expect to see me begin within the next couple of days to begin selling off all kinds of stuff.
-
I appreciate that. I am pretty set with stuff to move tanks I will just really be looking for a large tank to store my corals. I have time because we haven't even put our place up yet but I am looking to be ahead of the situation.
-
My situation is we are looking at buying a house a couple of miles from our current house. The new property has much more usable property so I plan on building a work/storage/ business shed in the back. This will allow me to keep my business outside of my house.
I am considering breaking down my tanks before the move. I am sure I will have some stuff to sell but more importantly I am looking for someone who would be willing to hold my corals. You would need to have room because some of the corals are pretty large. If you have the room and are willing when I finally get re-set up I would obviously give big pieces of the corals you were holding. I am posting this now so I dont have to scramble when we finally make the buy. I will probbably also sell the tank and maybe even the stand and buy a new one when I am set up but that is something I will have to think about.
if anyone has the room and would consider holding corals for me it would be appreciated.

I got a bucket which makes 160 gallons for $32. From what I recall Zack said the box for 200 gallons was $39. Still a very good price. I am sure Sean had excellent prices during the social. From what I understand the price at Petland is not a social or special price, it is just the price whenever you come in.

Hey Bob,
I have boxes of various size plastic bags. I got them when I first started my business thinking I was going to be using the bags for packaging. I do use them for some things, but I am pretty sure I have some I can sell. I can sell you a box or two at a very good price. Your Carbon and PhosBgone is packed and will go out Monday morning. I just noticed the bags other people linked to. The bags I have are not specifically designed for livestock.
