  1. Love the scoly's.  They are awesome.  You should check out some Indo Scoly's (aka: Acanthophyllia deshayesiana).  I had one a while back, and regret getting rid of it: http://reefbuilders.com/2009/06/04/acanthophyllia-deshayesiana-indo-pacific-scolymia-officially-recognized/ 8257805469_6c615ddb70_c.jpg20121208_131426 by mteske1, on Flickr

Hey! I bought that scold from you and I sold it to someone on WAMAS. I regret selling it too. :(

  2. Still debating this. Not sure if I want to risk it yet in the tank I just set up a few weeks ago.

Someone buy it before I change my mind!

Just get it Brad. i saw it in person the other day. the picture does it NO justice. IT IS HOT!!!!!!!

  3. Nope. It appears to be a problem with the outlet itself, and not a software issue. Was hoping this might kick it on, but it didn't.

Neptune has offered to fix it free of charge. I just lose the EB8 for a few days, and pay for shipping to Neptune. They'll pay for shipping for the return.

Hope they can get your be-8 back quickly. I'm thinking about buying another just to have in case something like that happens.

  4. I tried updating over wifi with the apex plugged into a small airport express which is being used to extend my network. This didn't work. So I tried plugging the apex directly to the AirPort Extreme and it worked flawlessly. Thanks for the tip. I think the key here is to connect the apex directly to your main router, and then you can still update over wifi.

Awesome! I forgot to mention that mine is connected directly to my router. Glad it worked for you.

  5. Well this stinks.  I don't own a computer that has an ethernet port.  It won't let me update the firmware via a wireless connection.  Nice.

I just did the update over wifi. Worked perfectly and faster than using Ethernet. I just upgraded to the new MBP retina and the new Airport Extreme. Wifi update was a breeze. I guess they don't recommend it because it can become an issue for people without a reliable wireless connect or crappy router. You should just give it a go if you have a decent router. Hope this helps.

  6. I thought about it. I think the 2 mp10's will be moving so much water that there won't be any surface scum. We will see

I doubt it with their positions in the tank. Without an overflow box it is almost impossible to completely eliminate surface scum. I think this would work great and you could hide it in the black area to the left of the higher mp-10. Just my thoughts. :-)
