I have only had the pleasure of speaking with Ben. Great guy with a wealth of knowledge. The best part is that Ben is happy to share his experience with others. Thanks Ben.

Check out this link http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/brs-tv/plumbing-videos for a silent overflow. I am using this on my 156gal with dual overflows and it is dead silent.

Thanks for the clarification on the worm and clam. I actually called a fellow member to discuss an problem with my clam and that is one thing that came up. When looking at it with a flashlight at night it was being eaten by a large bristle worm. The vulture/deer makes sense. I guess that really proves the power of the forum for information.

It was the Bristle Worm that got the clam. I have seen it happen.

I am interested in your opinion of the ZeoVit products and the impact on your corals. Do you keep up with using the products and have you changed from the products you listed earlier in the thread?

What were the parameters RIGHT BEFORE you decided to do a 50% water change. What drove you to consider a 50% water change with a different salt mix? While it might be the salt, I think we all need to consider our husbandry consistency and patience when planning out changes that will improve our systems.
Just a general comment..................sorry if it seems like a rant.

I hope you have long arms!

Radium 20K's there is no other bulb like it!!!

I did just that; used a baster to help blast out all the good stuff.

I "Tore down the wall" today based on Scott's presentation. I will keep you advised on the improvements.

I will be there.

One additional important note; leave a small gap between the bottom of the stand and the floor. I used heavy felt and put it on the corners and a couple of places along the edge. When I did have a spill that went under the stand, I used papertowel and slid it under the tank to soak up any water.

My tank was directly on the hardwood floor for years with no issues. True hardwood floors are much thicker then Pergo type floors and should hold up with no problem. I also drilled through the floor to my basement to for my sump, fuge and pumps. When it was time to upgrade and build an in-wall system and moving the old setup; getting the floor fixed was no problem. M&M Floors spot repaired the floor and you would never know it was repaired. The other advantage to having your support systems in the basement is the zero noise impact for your display tank located in living spaces.

I bought the same set up for Ca, Alk and Mag with the pumps. Works perfectly. I also bought the digital timers which also work perfectly. The nice thing about the digital timers; they are battery backed-up so if you have a power failure they keep on working.
I would get the larger containers for the mix. They offer the 2.5gal containers, buy them. Depending on the Ca draw of your tank, it will keep you from mixing up new solutions more often.

I have been running a Reeflo Barracuda for 5+ years from a basement sump to my 156gal display tank with dual 1.5" overflows on the main floor. I have a 2" return that feeds a OceanMotions 4Way then in to the tank. I have to bleed off return water in the sump due to the volume of water pumping into my display tank.

Looks like a great place to film the next SAW movie......... or a Halloween .

Great improvement! What ballast are you pushing those Radiums with? Are they 10K's as well?

Give it some time. Only bad things happen fast in this hobby. I have had multiple Zoas come from the same person at the same time with one opening quickly and the other taking over 2 weeks open.

What are you building.... a skimmer for the Atlantic Ocean?

Jacob,
You are welcome to use it until you recover. You have always taken good care of me when fragging. It is just sitting on my shelf gathering dust.

Jacob, I have an extra TDS that I do not need anymore. Willing to trade for SPS frags.

JohnW and I will be attending/carpooling. Caribbean Jake had to back out.
We have an open spot in the carpool if someone else (Oakton area) is interested. PM me directly if interested.
See you on Saturday.

Hi Jeff,
Quick question on the auction format; are you planning on removing the coral from the tank at the time of sale or will there be one breakdown at the end? Sell, remove, bag, pay.........
Thanks,
Rudy
