  1. thank you all.  I'm still looking around and would like to know of anyone selling a reef-ready small (20-70gal) tank.  I know smaller tanks have their challenges as they are prompt to crash due to the smaller amount of water, but I want to start small again before I move on to bigger tanks like I had in the past. Please let me know if you know of any one stepping back from the hubby.

  2. I would use "Goop" glue.  There is no perfect glue that will bond plastic to glass but I have found Goop to be the best.  It is very thick and dries fast and remains flexible.  I have a load of it in my tank so I know it is reef safe.

    Paul, how long have you had Goop in the tank, and where do you get it from?

  3. I think you might mean you're turning it into an "all-in-one" system instead of "reef ready" with a wall to have all the filtration hidden, and not drilling the outside glass in any way.

    Keep us posted on how it goes! I've been tempted to do that too. Are you doing this against the back or on a side?

    that is correct, turn it into a all-in-one system.  I guess things do change in eight years, specially how we label or name things.  Thanks for the help !

  4. Ok, I am thinking of cutting some acrylic and building a wall inside the 55G tank where I can house the water column, heater, pumps, filtration, and reactors inside the same 55G tank. In order to do so I would need to build a wall using acrylic.

    What glue you recommend I use for holding the acrylic piece in place?

    Thank you in advance for your advise, suggestions.

  5. Hello everyone, and old friends;

    Ocean saltwater calls, and I answered !.  :laugh:

    After few years (more like 8) in absence from WAMAS due to business, world travelling, and family, I have decided to come back to my favorite hobby !., saltwater eco-systems keeping.

    I am not jumping in right-away as I am aware a lot of technology and information have/has changed in the past few years. I regret missing the Feb 20th meeting at Oakton High School, but I'm sure there are more to come.

    I browsed the gallery section and found old pictures of my previous tanks and that was enough to make me come back.  The first thing to do is to enjoy looking at everyone's set-ups and gathering information on the trend and particulars of today's systems.  I will be looking and I'm interested in a small 30gal to 55 gal self-sustained system to get me back on the hobby until I can manage to work my way back to the 200's 300's gals tank I used to care for.  If you have some advise on the self-sustained eco-systems and tanks in the 30g-55g range I would greatly appreciate you pass them on.

    Looking forward to meet everyone again either virtual, at the next WAMAS meeting, or at someone's show-and-tell (if they are still available).

    Thank you

    Caribbean Jake
