Hello!! I’m Leo
I mostly keep terrestrial arthropods and freshwater setups, but have a nano live rock ecosystem that has really sparked my interest in marine aquariums. I recently visited Aqua Huna and one of the employees recommended this group to me, I can’t believe I hadn’t discovered it before now!
For marine tanks I’m primarily interested in invertebrates (including whichever corals/anemones/etc. decide they won’t die in my tank if I look at them the wrong way, less interested in the super touchy and expensive guys haha), my nano setup was inspired by me discovering that your guys’ pests are things like STARFISH?? Figured if I focused on working with things most people struggle to get rid of, I’d have a much easier time keeping them alive, while finding them just as cool. My nano setup has already taught me so much and I’ve observed dozens of species in just the ~3 gallon space.
There’s a handful of “dream” marine inverts I have, the most unconventional one is probably a bobbit worm. I’ve seen the nightmare thread but unfortunately it just made me super interested in them, especially since it taught me you can get them accustomed to hand feeding. Beyond that it’s mostly interesting crustaceans like mantis shrimp, pom pom crabs, etc, which are fortunately not too hard to obtain or keep.
I’m starting my first large tank, a 55 gallon freshwater community, so will be very focused on that before I expand my marine collection. Still, figured I’d come check out this community!
