  1. Hello I want to add to small clarkii to my 120g tank. I have currently 5 fish a foxface, one spot blennie, fairy wrasse, & 2 ocellaris clowns a gladiator and I think a storm. They are maybe a little over a inch. Not to aggressive. I've seen it done in a lot of tanks but I just want to be ok to do it where they all live. Thanks
  2. Ok thanks. I will try it.
  3. How do I check. It's flat to the rock and very small. Will I just be able to touch it and feel for it.
  4. Anybody know what this is. I had 2 rock flower anenome about a year ago that disappeared when my tank was in bad shape. (bad water) I also had a very big colony of Duncan's that was that same color. It just showed up out of nowhere. Any info is appreciated.
  5. Thanks. What are cowres
  6. Thanks I will start adding more cuc. Just a FYI I've had 2 urchin, about 20 hermits, and like 6 trochus. The urchins died, hermits killed the snails I believe then hermits died. 🤦🏾‍♂️ so I don't know what happened. And I had like 10 turbos in beginning buy they would commit suicide. Kept falling and can't turn over.
  7. Thanks for info. I've had the tank about 4yrs now. I bout it from a guy while it was still up. I took probably 50% of his water and started with the rest new water. When I 1st got tank it a as doing well had livestock and coral growth. Maybe like a year in I was loosing fish at every water change. Lost coral, nems u name it. U can look at my past post to kind of get more of a story. I was making bad water at 1 time I fixed that. Now I can do water changes without any deaths but I had bought a scopas about 6monts ago and I think he gave my tank velvet. The only fish that live was my foxface and wrasse. I have 2 cardinal and a 1 spot blennie in qt now that I will use to make sure I can keep livestock in about 3 weeks. But that's pretty much it. I have a toadstool that was nice size and pretty now its laying down and hardly has any tentacles open. My leather mushrooms are doing amazing. But my gsp is not spreading like I think it should be. Hope this gives more of a picture. Thanks.
  8. Hey I am almost at the point to sale but I love the hobby. I have been dealing with this algae problem for a while. I used to have a real bad hair algae problem that I manually removed by acubbing the rocks each time I did a water change. Had tank looking pretty decent but it's coming back. I've shorten my light cycle rearranged my flow but still by the end of week its right back on sand like I never cleaned. I'll post my numbers but my livestock is a foxface and a fairy wrasse, fire shrimp, 3 turbo snails, 2 trochus & 3 snails that bury in the sand. I have a skimmer running carbon and phosphate sponge. Thanks for any help in advance.
  9. Thanks for info. I will keep updated as I go. As of right now I don't have any nems. I want to get but I'm dealing with a algae issue. I had a nem that had split into 3 pieces. My buddy gave it to me. It was cool for a bit then it didn't like something. Kept moving and shrinking up. Eventually lost all 3. Was a bummer. So i want to try without nems to see if I can accomplish it. We will see.
  10. We're they the same size when added?
  11. Hey Wamas Fam, I have a question or seeking advice. I want to have 2 pair of clownfish in my dt. I have a 6ft long 120g tank. I want to know if I can 1st successfully do it in my tank. Most of the tanks I see that have it are 250g+ 2nd I want to have 4 diff kind of percula so do I need to get 1 pair one size & the other pair a diff size. Or can I get them all the same size. 3rd should I get them at same time or diff times. I have a qt but I would preferably want to put in dt from beginning. I'm restocking my tank. Had a tang die and I think put velvet in my tank. I have a foxface and fairy wrasse that survived. They are back looking healthy and I think I'm in the clear. Been bout 6mnths since that. Did alot of water changes also. I have some cuc also. So that's my question sorry for the long 1. I'm open to any suggestions or advice. I can move rocks around and do egg crates if needed but I would rather do it without if possible. Thanks in advance. Oh last question if I do separate with egg crate and have them pair. Is it a possibility once the crate is removed will the pairs try and change?
  12. That would actually fit my schedule better. But wouldn't that be more stress and swings each time
  13. Ok I have a 55g sump with a protein skimmer. I'm running phosguard and carbon also. My livestocknis a foxface, scopas, kole eye bristle tooth, cardinal, fairy wrasse & 1 clown right now. I had emeralds and recently 2 purple urchins, but they died along with my emeralds. Oh I have a fire shrimp also. My levels were good last time I checked. I will check again, but a Buffy said that by me having the algae that my nitrates are false readings. It is getting better but it still grows that tint of green across everything.
  14. What type of algae scrubber do u have.
  15. I've been fighting hair algae for a while. Can look at older post for more info. But I'm finally doing regular water changes and bot loosing any fish. My question is that I still have hair algae but it's not growing as fast. I pick as much as I can without trying to stress my fish each water change. So I want to know can a tank go thru an ugly stage again I've had it for about 3yrs and when I bought it I kept alot of the water that the previous owner had running. I did do almost a full water change when I was having the fish dieing issues. Now I am doing 15gal a week for a 125g. I have green algae growing on the sand by the end of the week when I'm about to do the water change. So this leads to my next question is could it be my light cycle. My lights are on from 5:30 - 630 but are only on with the white on from 10-1. Sorry for the lengthy post. Any help is appreciated
  16. Ok great. I will be testing again this weekend. I put the livestock back in and started feeding the dt. I have 3 chromis, a cardinal, 2 fire shrimp, 1 peppermint shrimp, and 10 each snails and hermits. So far corals are opening up and fish doing good. Algae is minimal and skimmer is doing job. Need to tune that a little more. Skim is very watery and light brown. But I will send #'s when I test. Thanks
  17. @Origami here are my new #'s. What u think. Thanks for all the help from everyone in this thread. I really appreciate it
  18. Ok thanks. I haven't got a chance to test again but hopefully can do it this evening. I did order the polifilter so I will have that and I'm running some phosguard in my sump. I'm not running alot cause I didn't want to wast It. I will check everything I can this evening and update the numbers. I also have another ati test on the way so I will do that once I do this 20gal water change.
  19. I will and test again today. Thanks
  20. Also I do plan to have more coral. Just the easy stuff, LPS, mushrooms, torches, hammers, etc
  21. Yes I have a refractometer and a digital 1. I can check in a few when I get home.
  22. Yes I have this chart. My alkalinity is in ppm so when I did a conversion it seemed right in line. I will check again though. But thanks
  23. Ok so just a quick update on what's going on with my tank. I ended loosing all my fish except 1 cardinal who is a true soldier. He had fin rot and wasn't moving to good. Put him, 2 fire shrimp & a peppermint shrimp in the qt tank and they are thriving. Jaws(cardinal) has grown all his fins back and eating everything, shrimp are doing great also. I have 2 mushroom corals that are in the qt also and a gsp that hasn't opened up to much since being in the qt. I know why that hasn't done anything so I'm not to worried about that and I know it will pop back to life once in dt. So since my last ask for help I have done a little bit of what everyone has recommended doing. I started doing big water changes at like 20gal a week. I've done 3 since the beginning of this post. Have gotten a new skimmer and better filtration. I currently have nothing in my dt but rock and water. And these are my levels. My new question is is it safe to put my livestock back in the dt with these parameters. I am starting to get a little algae on my rock work but nowhere near what I had before. Thanks in advance.
