Aquarium Service Technician JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining client and in-house aquariums, in addition to installing, repairing and moving new fish tanks, completing needed repairs or component installations, traveling to client locations, visiting new potential clients to inform them of company services, and helping the team with office, aquaculture center or warehouse-related activities. All work to be performed to company processes and procedures and in accordance with safety working standards. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Basic knowledge of salt and fresh water aquatic life maintenance and aquarium set-up. * Excellent customer service skills. * Excellent time management skill. * A minimum of two years' experience, either as a fresh and salt water fish enthusiast, diver, aquatic maintenance technician, or with some other related service and or maintenance background. * Ability to learn and utilize proper cleaning techniques. * Basic plumbing and electrical /mechanical abilities are required * Basic knowledge of aquarium service, maintenance, and cleaning. * Ability to occasionally travel to various markets outside of the regularly-assigned geographic area. * Ability to drive a personal vehicle * Ability to work 'on call', as determined by Management. JOB LOCATIONS Travel throughout the Northern Virginia region: Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Loudon, and Prince William Counties. Must have the ability to occasionally travel to various markets outside of the regularly-assigned geographic area. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS This function is generally paid an hourly rate depending on background, experience and overall capability. A service technician commission program exists and made available after 6 months of demonstrated excellent performance. Company / Employee shared benefits are available for health care (medical/dental), life insurance, paid vacation and personal time after a designated employment period.
