  1. Hello! I am hoping that someone can help me with my pests =)

I have montipora eating nudibranchs. They are tiny and white but definitely nudibranchs. I dip EVERY coral that goes into my tank with Bayers insecticide. I started noticing the nudibranchs all at one time one my encrusting, plating, and branching montiporas.

I have tried fresh water dip, Coral RX, and Bayers insecticide. Nothing seems to be working yet. Any ideas? Was thinking of trying flatworm exit as a dip? Any thoughts?

    Thank you!!!

  2. Hello! I love WAMAS because the people are amazing and the knowledge is accessible. I really appreciate the time in everyone answering my questions over the last year!

I own a large scale coral propagation business (I wish!). I am currently selling frags to wholesalers in Tampa and Miami and I am wanting to expand and sell directly to fish stores. I have a main SPS tank that is 700 gallons. I am currently dosing two part, I have a skimmer, a 200 gallon sump/ refugium and that's all. I have been doubling my production of frags lately as I gear up to sell to fish stores. I have been thinking it would help to get...

Calcium Reactor: I have never owned one, but they sound amazing and I can't believe I don't have one! Does anyone have any thoughts feedback? Pros or cons I should be aware of? Sounds like a very easy system (after it is calibrated) and a lot cheaper. Any brands to get or avoid?

Bio-pellet reactor: Since I will be (hopefully) selling frags directly to fish stores I want the frag plugs to look perfect. I don't have much algae, but some times I will have a few strands of hair algae or coralline algae growing on the plugs. I would like to eliminate it completely. Pros or cons on the bio-pellets. Any thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated!

Does anyone use Red Sea Part A & B? I have been reading about Amino acids being supplemented and this two part sounds amazing, but it is a huge financial commitment based on my tank sizes to just "give it a go". Anyone actually use it or something like it, like Fuel. Thank you!

  3. Hello everyone! I am located in Ocala Florida so I don't want anyone to think I am a competition to their business :D

Anyway, I was hoping that I could get some insite into what people charge to set up and maintain tanks. I own a coral propagation business in Florida and we are wanting to branch out into commercial tank maintenance, but I am really not sure of what people charge to set up the tanks and do weekly maintenance. I am sure it depends on what size and kind if tank but a ball park would really help.

I just set up a 125 gallon in my neighbors house as a practice run and although it went smoothly it was very time consuming. Any info would be great, if you want to pm me so you don't put your prices out there that would be great as well. Thank you for your time!

  4. That is amazing and really great info. The lettuce sea slugs that bred in my tank are doing great! I have about 30 of the original babies that are now fully grown! As much as I have watched them they seem to eat all kinds of algae with no particular favorite other that chaeto. Not sure why they bred or if they will breed again, but they are so amazing that I am always watching them. Will keep following along to see how I can better take care of my sea slugs  :)

  5. No, they are technically not nudibranchs. They are lettuce sea slugs (but doesn't nudibranchs sound better? :)) anyway. They look like supper tiny versions of the pic from Paul b. I will get a pic up later today. I have 2 lettuce nudibranchs in the tank just didn't expect babies so soon.

  6. Hello! Well, today during my usual tank evaluation I discovered 30-40 baby nudibranchs on my tank glass.  (I totally freaked because I though they were worms or something at first) After some research online I discovered that they are in fact baby lettuce nudibranchs.

Does anyone have any advice or ideas to help keep the babies alive? They are really tiny. Looking at my tank tonight I probably have about 100 or more. I put a clump of chaeto from my sump into the tank and I haven't cleaned the glass so they might have something to munch on. They are simply too tiny to try and move or separated them. Any other ideas? Anything would be greatly appreciated!!!

They are SO cute! They already have the antennae and the little tiny frills (not very many). I will try to take some pics tomorrow when my lights are back on.

  7. That is awesome! Congrats on the splurge

Nice, still trying to convince the wife I need one, did you get the whole package or just the pump, my wife is starting to learn that some things I need and other things I just want.
