  1. ive got a very healthy metallic green carpet thats now a foot plus wide and the brigtest thing in my tank. how much 65 bucks. how much at a reef store 450+ quoted. Couple other pieces from them... they have great 10$ deal on colored anemones that are hardy.

I see one or two fish dead at every place.

  2. Any longer term thoughts from people that are using the Gyres? Looking at maybe replacing my MP40 this summer and I was wondering what peoples longer term thoughts were on these now that we're coming up on 6 months with them now.

Funny u ask. Was just readjusting my pumps last night. Gyre is doing good. Maybe 10% loss of power since day one with no cleaning. Run it opposite to my drains with two jaebos 40 in wave mode. It's been difficult to find the right flow for lps heavy tank. My sps/chalice love it. Functiionaly it's good , for me so so.
  3. returns are indeed pressurized.

    drains are not pressurized.

Flex pipe is typically white flexible PVC.

Clear or colored silicone tubing comes in various wall thicknesses and is what most of you are referring to as "flex".

Braided silicone is clear and has a woven braid integrated into the wall to allow for heavy duty use and kink-free turns.

Noise is not generated by type of pipe used but more on how the system is plumbed.

yes thank you, drains are not pressurized.. returns are obviously

  4. All post above considered my thought is flex tubing on anything less then 800g and pvc above 1k g. Returns are not pressurized so they can be flex to cut down on noise and ease of maintenance

  5. Found the perfect size tank to put next to my existing 240 reef. Think I'll start by using it as a water mixer , then into a clown tank and then finally a nice seahorses tank with new canopy all around.

Gotta drill my first outlet holes and then figure out the best plumbing with my existing setup to shutoff and still run the reef.

Got my drill and bit ready. Let's see what happens next....

  6. Couple question about the evergrows

r you still running at 28% strength and how high is the light from the water. Par reading is with no water movement right?  Seems like a lot for 28%.. wondering how much i need to acclimate coming from the kessils at 100% 100%.

thanks., the lights look good especially with t5 combo.

  7. Defntly would not use any type of anchor to the drywall. Bolt wood board to the studs and then metal l brace 10x in the center. Might be overkill but its one thing less to worry about. I have two 2080 (42ibs) supported this way.
