  2. Well I ended up stopping and getting a generator. Have a powerhead, heater and lights on and going to get some water ready for a change. Yellow leather is looking rough and the RBTA looks pretty stressed out. Thanks again for all the suggestions and help. I'll update with progress.

  3. Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions.  I'm leaving in 15 minutes which should put me home by 130 after stopping at the store for battery powered pumps.  Keeping my fingers crossed!

  4. Yes, called them around 5 AM, 7AM, 10AM and 11.  Still can't tell me any approx. time that it would be restored or even what the actual cause is.  I'm sure ice/weather related but they don't know the cause of the problem yet.

  5. I didn't have any battery powered pumps and nothing was open when I had to leave for work/school.  Nothing running at all, I feel like I'm going to breakdown any minute.

I have my wife going home at lunch to see if power has been restored.  I work over an hour from my house so me going home during lunch isn't an option.

  6. So my power went out last night around 1AM.  I do not have an alternate power supply so I wrapped my tank in a comforter to try to contain the heat and help form the water temp falling fast.  I had to leave my house at 7:30 AM to take my daughter to school and go to work, still didn't have any power but the temp on the tank was still at 78-77 degrees.  I have no idea if or when the power will be back, neither does the power company. Do you think I'll have anything living by the time I get home this evening around 530 or 6?

  7. It is probably related to the Flame but it's tentacles are more brown/tan and no electric luminescence.

It seems to wedge itself into a good spot and opens up all day but then moves in the evening.  I'll try to get some video of it on the move.

  8. Yes, 32 LED's per switch.  They are separated front and back, not side to side.  Meaning that the switch that is in the rear of the light controls the 2 panels across the back and the switch towards the front of the light control the 2 panels towards the the front of the light.

There are two plugs, one for each switch and a driver for each plug.  I'll post detailed pics of the drivers when I get home.  I'm not really sure how it's wired yet, as soon as I figured out that I couldn't access the lights or get the boards out without taking off all of the lenses I put it back together.  I will have more time and less people at my house tonight to get into more detail.

    Thanks,

    Joe

  9. Sorry guys, got distracted with some company over the weekend.  I did get a chance to break the light down a little, took both ends off the fixture to try to access the diodes, but it seems like I have to take all of the lenses off to get to them.  I was going to do that but then realized I didn't have the lights labeled for color so I put what I had done back together and plan on labeling and breaking it down further tonight. Here are photos of what I have done so far...

  10. Thanks, I'll be following your thread.

Unfortunately I'm stuck with this fixture for the time being, got it as a gift and can't drop $250+ right now on new lights/hanging equip.

I'm going to take it apart this evening and see what I'm working with. I've also found out I could add a inline dimmer, not sure if it will work but I'll update with the progress.

  11. So I want to swap out some of the whites for Violet and more blues to this fixture and I have no idea where to start.

Found this site that I'm going to order the LED's from but not sure which one's I should order.

I assume I'm going to have to take the fixture apart to see what type of LED's to order but I've never dealt with replacing or adding LED's before and was just looking for some insight if anyone had any with this particular fixture or if this is even possible.

    Thanks,

    Joe

  12. Hey Chuck, everything else is looking a bit better except the Duncan.  I ended up moving it to a low flow area and it came out a little bit but not nearly as much as before.  I was thinking of doing a Coral RX dip to see if anything comes off.

  13. Is my Birdsnest dead or dying?  The skeleton looks bleached white but the polyps look good and extend fully.  It is currently placed in a mid-high flow area in the mid/high area of a 55 gallon under LED's.  Should I move it to a different location in my tank?

    Thanks!

  14. Woke up this morning to the backside completely bleached out and some polyps missing on 2 branches.  I don't think it's tissue necrosis because the entire frag looked great last night.  It was been placed about 4 to 5 inches from a small frogspawn, not sure if it's sweepers could reach it, but I moved it this morning incase it was the frogspawn. The only other culprits in my tank, that I know of, would be Peppermint Shrimp or an Algae Blenny.  Has anyone had either of these eat your Poci before?

  15. I'm curing some rock right now that I got from someone that had it sitting in their garage from when they broke down their tank.  The rock had been sitting in a tote with the old tank water in a cold garage.  I'm not sure how long he had the rock sitting with no water movement or heat so when I brought it home I switched it to a new tote with new water and added 2 power heads and a heater.

For the first 2 days the smell was absolutely terrible, assuming that the cold water created a lot of die off and the power heads were getting a lot of it out of the crevices.  I changed all the water after the 2 days and added some bacteria and have been running it for the past week, all the smell is gone and water is crystal clear.  Just did my first water parameter test last night and the ammonia is off the charts.

  16. Hi,

First post and I'm hoping I can get some help IDing this type of snail?  It was a hitchhiker from some established live rock.  If a Conch I will leave it in but it a Whelk or something predatory I want to remove.

    Thanks!
