Doubtful as you mentioned but pistol shrimp have killed other types of shrimp in tanks. (friend of mine lost his skunk to a pistol)

ok I have a IMAC and a router hooked up to Time Capsule, Apex hooked up with actiontec to router. can i do it wirelessly? how do i get this done with out buying a 50ft cable?
Neptune says (and in the firmware update instructions) that it must be connected via cable not wireless. I'm sure others have done it wireless and prob worked. I did mine by cable and had 0 problems at all during or since.

I
I do use a filter mat on the return pump suction to polish off the water. It is quilt batting cut into squares and I just throw it away every three days when i replace it.
Have you noticed how/if this affects your DT pod stock at all?

Most of the time Matt, it's not even worth the extra effort and time spent to get around the tolls (although it's really only the express lanes on 495 and the Dulles toll road that charge so not exactly sure where all the toll roads people are referring to.

I had this when I first got my ReefO skimmer and it took a couple weeks to "break-in." Was it all cleaned up when you got it? Maybe it just needs to break-in again on your system?

Anything that decides to take up residence in my filter socks better get oughta Dodge or they get a date with bleach!

I don't really mind making the hike to Quantum even though Marine Scene is closer (by 30 minutes). A1 is a nice little shop and I've gotten one nice frag of zoas from them.

but I thought the new upgrade was going to do away with programming?
Neptune's website and mrsaltwatertank has more info in exactly what Fusion is supposed to do.

I love my Apex and the programming is pretty straight forward. We should have a section where we can share apex codes.....

that's actually inaccurate.
Trock is right on this coral...there are plenty of corals and fish that have no business in our tanks (and IMHO this is one of them) but their numbers are incredibly small...this hobby has helped to keep some species alive when otherwise mankind would have destroyed it with all of the disasters both from natural disasters and man made disasters.
No it's not inaccurate at all though Trock, you, me, everyone has their own opinion (typically without the science to back it up)
Whether the hobby has helped save some species is debatable too due to the method used to remove many of these from the oceans.
Frankly NONE of our "pets" has evolved to living life in an enclosed container. That, actually, is irrefutable fact so saying one should be left while others are ok to take is just absurd.
As for destruction, things DO and HAVE happened even without human involvement. It's like saying if humans had existed and had zoos 250mil years ago then 95% of life on the planet wouldn't have been wiped out during the
End-Permian extinction event.
People do have one poignant trait above all other animals: we have a wonderful ability to convince ourselves that what we believe is in fact truth when it may or may not be anywhere close.
I'm not preaching with all of this but won't be accused of being inaccurate based on another person's "belief."

This coral is better left in the ocean, very poor survival rate. Just because they occasionally survive doesn't mean its a good idea.
Using this logic, everything in our tanks should be left in the ocean!

Hey there FishyPapa - nice rack!
Question - why do folks use frag racks? I don't have one and just place my frags on the LR and let them grow. I'm curious because i'm wondering if I should get one.
Merci! I use a rack so I have a place to move frags back and forth to see how they respond to light levels before gluing them or to let them grow out before I frag. They're definitely handy but not really an absolute necessity.

Awesome pretty cool collection
Thanks Sean

I've gotta ask, fishy papa, that's presumably your son in your avatar. Is he dressed up as a Donkey, or Bane from Batman?
Either way, awesome.
haha yep, that's m'boy! We went to Wendy's (his favorite restaurant for some reason) and the kids meal had a Donkey (from Shrek) ear headband and the nose/teeth thing you hold in your mouth. lol He's such a ham.

Silicone tubing for RODI?
in General Discussion
We use silicon tubing in the labs for out ultra purified water and it's not an issue. (They wouldn't use it otherwise). No contamination issues.
