Wow thanks for all the info, I was not aware of a few of those companies including Miracles. Just curious, what size waterbox did you get and why did you go with them over the others?
Miracles is fantastic. They do a lot of bigger custom tanks and the work is amazing. If you contact them, use email and not the web form as I don't think it's functional. I had a rimless 270 gallon Miracles tank that was a work of art. They also have a long track record so you know the tanks are built to last. They also will do full solution with stand (wooden or steel) and really nice cabinetry or panels.
I looked at CDA as well and they were very responsive and a few people I know had a good experience.
TSA in Florida built a tank for one of the club members, who said the workmanship was similar to waterbox.Waterbox tops out at under 270 (7 x 30" x 24") but as a turnkey solution, they are very nice tanks (I've got one coming right now).
I've heard Glasscages has improved their build quality greatly but I am old enough to remember some bad experiences in the past.
Planet Aquarium, Coast to Coast, AGE, and Reef Savvy are others to look at. I have a 100 gallon Reef Savvy and it's a really nice tank but I've heard they are having significant production issues with lead times exceeding 9 months.
Hope that helps.

I am looking into upgrading to a 300g+ system and wanted to make sure I've looked at everything.
What are some of the best makers/manufacturers of 300+ systems? I see waterbox has become pretty popular, any other recommendations?
Thanks!

Decided to dip into the Nano/Pico world this holiday season and I bought a Fluval Spec 3(2.6g). Link below. I really havent decided what to do with this, but I wanted to get some ideas from you guys!
Heres a brain dump:
I wanted to do something low maintenance so ideally something that wouldnt have to be fed everyday, but not sure if some nano livestock would work with this? Ill entertain the thought.
Ricordia/yuma and Zoa Tank only or maybe throw in a few shrimp?
Small Anenome or Rock Aneome tank - Is this too small for a clown or 2?
Torches along the bottom with a Zoa Rock in the middle to the top

No, I wanted to make one myself with Plexiglas. Something that would be 4-6 in deep and cover the whole back wall of the tank.
If I do go the route of an overflox box, any other recommendations along with the Eshopps?
-
Does anyone know where I could find a tutorial online on how to build a small in tank sump? This would be for a 20-25g Mr.Aqua Rimless Cube.
I'm just curious on how baffle configuration would look like, spacing etc.
Would greatly appreciate any suggestions, thank you!

Thanks for the tips. I raised the fixture about 2-3 inches and it seems you guys got the sweet spot down, ive been keeping mine at 50b/40w as scheduled max for the day.

Ill take 2 boxes of IO if you still have it, cant pick up this weekend though.

I got a IT2040 about 6 months ago and Ive had it over my frag tank with mixed results. At first I kept it at the factory ( I believe ERC settings) and i recently started playign around with the custom menu and trying different power settings.
What im looking for is the BEST power setting specifically for an Zoa dominated frag tank, ( a few LPS frags but no SPS). I've learned no setting is perfect for all the different types of Zoas out there, but which one would be the best to accommodate the most?
My parameters are where they need to be, all pretty stable, the fixture is 6 inches from the top of the tank, with the frags 6 inches below the rim, I have not been able to use a PAR metter ( waiting on it already).
What do you guys suggest? I heard there is a template somewhere on RC for Zoas but I cant find it! Can someone point me if they know where it is? Or any suggestions would be appreciated!

Or these (they come in different sizes). http://www.amazon.com/Aquarium-Glass-Cover-Support-Holder/dp/B00BG9JUKU
THank you! THis is pretty much what i was looking for, jumping on it now!

Where do you get those plastic clips? Is it a one size fits all sorta deal or do they make different sizes?
I might just go with the mesh top, ive been reading about a lot of warping on plexiglass...
-
Does anyone know where I could find a glass or plexiglass top to cover a nano and the pegs or "holders" that sit on the the rimless tanks that hold up the cover? ( usually 4)
I saw some at quantums but they were made for the specific tanks they were selling.
Specifically, im looking for something to fit a Mr. Aqua 18g cube.

Just came across your build tread Trish, looks great! That's some pretty fast progress!

so was that 2 different stains on the wall? Tank is lookin gooood....
-
GREAT looking wall! This would get pinned all over the place on pinterest. What kind of wood is that exactly? and the stain?
-
Great job on the build, im excited to see to see how the ADA turns out. I love the clean look. The planted ADA pictures have almost convinced me to try one.
I actually just got a Mr. Aqua 18"x18"18" and im going to get some of the same equipment. A few questions though...
1. Doesnt the sand blow around with the flow being so high? I like how the fine grains look over something a little bigger I just dont want a sandstorm!
2. Could I get away with 1 Ecotech MP10? Would that be enough flow? Im thinking of adding a tunze skimmer as well.

Perfect, thats just what I was looking for

Suggestions on lighting for a fluval edge 12g? The stock lighting is horrible. Tank looks like this....(not mine)
-
what type of light is that?

Because im not entirely sure its the foxface, it could be one of the tangs, the sailfin is constantly looking for food and will peck at everything, i just havent caught anyone in the act
What RODI system do you use?
in General Discussion
I am in the market for a new RODI and just want to get some suggestions on a low waste, high output system - something that is pretty efficient. What brands/systems do you like/use? What should my GPD output be?
I've been looking at BRS, AquaFX and Air, Water and Ice systems but welcome any other thoughts!
