  1. Did your PSK-150 ever start making skimmate?  I'm curious because I just bought a used one and i'm concerned about the quality of this brand and the pump that came with it.

I noticed the pump that came with it isn't a Sicce SK-400 like most ads show.   What kind of pump is on your skimmer?  The pump on mine came with is a Atman PH2000 Skimmer Pump With needle wheel impeller.

  2. I think it was the sand that killed it.  It was doing great before I moved it to the lower part of the tank.  Before it was in the middle-middle part of the tank and it was THRIVING then I moved it to the lower right sand bed and it started to slowly die.

It's up off the sand now and doing good but will the polyps come back?  Should I cut the dead coral off so algae doesn't get stuck on it and kill the rest of the polyps?

  3. I moved this coral from the middle of the tank  where it was on some live rock to the lower right and placed it on the sand bed.  Left it there for about 2 weeks then it started losing it's tentacles.  I since moved it to a piece of live rock so it doesn't lose any more of it's tentacles.

Will the tentacles start growing back or will it slowly start losing all it's tentacles.

Also, what's the name of this coral?

    Thanks for the help all!

  4. I bought this and there is too much spillage for my 15g tank. The column tank is 13.6 x 13.8 x 24.8

Has anyone ever molded their pendant to make the wide version more narrow?  Any ideas of how I could reduce the spillage?

  5. Took a pic of it this morning right after turning the lights on in the room.

Up close under normal lighting - polyps extended nicely

I have it under a flat piece of live rock.

During the day, he shrivels up and hides under the ledge.  During the night, he plumps right up and sticks out.  It's fingers actually stand up.  Pretty cool to see it inflate and deflate.  I hope this is what it's supposed to do and i'm not hurting it.

I've been feeding it ReefRoids every other day.

  6. I was at the WAMAS winter meeting today and ended up winning the 5 stage RODI unit that was included in the raffle.  I'm so anxious to use it.  Thank you for all you do for WAMAS and thanks for donating the RODI unit.

  7. I have a 15 gallon tank and the cover that came with it requires a F8T5 8w 12 inch light bulb.  Does anyone know where I can find a local retailer?

I have a couple clowns and a nem in there now but want to add corals later so need something other than the cool white bulbs I can get from Home Depot.

    Thanks

  8. I have the Photon32 and have swapped out my LEDs quite a few times.  After a few iterations, i'm quite happy with the way I got my light fixture set up and I think I got the hang of replacing the LEDs.  You have to have a steady hand, depending how big the LEDs are, and patience.

  9. I purchased a Red Chili coral from Aquarium One (Nephthyigorgia crassa, N. pinatta) a week ago and its doing fine so far.  Did some reseaech and it's non-photosynthetic, likes to be on the bottom, and medium to high flow.  Someone on another board said (back in 2010) that he hung his upside down under a ledge and it did fine.

Anyone have experience with these corals?  Here's a pic from the net but looks like mine except mine is laying flat on the sand bed.

Do you think I can superglue this monster to the LR?
