We are spoiled by having some GREAT LFS around the area, they are all nice, knowledgeable, friendly and all around great stores but if you are in to fish, Tuan's store is a must stop.

If it's just a 55 gallon if it was me I would just buy a new 55 gallon tank or if you have the space and budget I would upgrade.

Can you post a pic?

You got some good ideas. Time to start saving lol

Exactly "chill and relax" lol. I do agree with him thoughdude, you need to chill and relax. this is a hobby that takes patience. corals will open when they want to and fish will hide when they want to and come out when you stop messing with them. let it happen.

Marco has the best fishes around period. Top quality and best customer service, I can't wait to get my next fish from ERC

Chris is super friendly and very helpful even if you don't buy anything.

I agree with him.pumps add heat most certainly. A watt of power is a watt of heat. Tiny tanks run best on one pump. You shouldn't have anything more than the return pump and you certainly don't need a heater.
Is it a steady 82 degrees? Or does it go up and down from 79 to 82? If it's a steady 82 I wouldn't stress to much if everyone is doing fine. Lol I used to worry like that when my tank was fairly new... Now I just try to enjoy it even though is not looking it's best at the moment.

If your not planning on SPS and only doing LPS, do waste the $$ and just get the regular IO salt. No need for RC
I agree with Eric. Don't give it to much though just do your water changes and sit back and enjoy your reef.

You should be ok using the same sand just give it a quick rinse in old tank water and transfer it, that's what I did when I upgraded from a 60 to a 120. I didn't have any problems.

You guys still have time to prepare and get readyWith no UPS or generator I'm with Isaac and just hoping that nothing bad happens. Ive been told I'm on the same grid as the fire station and the police station so I should be good. If the power does go out I'll probably be frantic trying to find ways to keep stuff alive. That would most likely fail and then I would be a sad reefer with a have a tank setup for sale.

I got my generator ready and plenty of gas for a couple of days (hopefully I won't need it), my biggest challenge will be my wife starting the generator and hooking up the tank because I will be out plowing hopefully for a couple of days.

While any purchase should be made with some caution and risk, I am usually very comfortable with what I buy from WAMAS members. Unlike CraigsList, where you don't even get a persons real email address, there is some accountability here. While I am not encouraging a public bashing of member transactions, the possibility of this tends to keep people on check,. Also, if you keep an eye out for who has been around a while vs. new people who start off selling stuff, you can get a sense of what you may be getting into.
In short, WAMAS is able to provide the small town experience in what would otherwise be the big scary city of the Internet.
+1 on what DaveS said.
Welcome to WAMAS. Here is what would be an awesome upgrade http://wamas.org/forums/topic/76305-240g-system-part-out/page-1
