  1. I vote LED because life of bulbs and zero heat. But I will say I had good results under (phe 14k) 250w MH x2 with VHO actintic over a 120 gal
  2. I agree, but it would be a lot less headach to just get p/t.
  3. If I was you I wouldn't waste much time with that if you want bigger allreay. Just learn as much as possible on water stabilty, and start preping for the next tank. Design and propose to fellow reefers, come close as possible to a perfect build. Then start preparing and the your year is up and you didn't waste time or money on stuff you might not be able to use. Oh yea plumbing is easy I like to glue my negitive lap joints but it's not required.
  4. My tank was far enough off the wall to fit a 5 gal tank between wall and stand. Also if you have space you can just order sheets of glass and build it to fit the space avalible.
  5. I can't veiw it because I have no facebook page.
  6. I love mine, I built them from rapidled.com. They were ran for about a year so not a lot of observation time, but can say not heat and ran higher par numbers than my MH set-up. A little spotlight effect at first but switched to 60 deg optics and loved them after that.
  7. ATO saved my life, autotopoff.com thats what I have had for years $50 dual stage.
  8. Thats really nice to know, my corals went from LED's to halides and now back to LED's "when they come back home" they are not going to be happy with me for a while. Yea, I lost a nice bonsia colony and a rainbow encrusting monti that I know of so far.
  9. I have never ran one without a fuge and never will, because what they said. Plus someone allways needs some cheato.
  10. Sweet Thanks Do you have a frag tank? I might need a home for some of my SPS while my tank cycles not sure yet.
  11. I don't have a bass boat but I use to fish. My brother in law loves bass fishing the potomac but catches a lot of snakeheads.
  12. We can hook up anytime I also love a good IPA draft!! Good luck with that " like you need another ?????"
  13. No I wanted to go, but couldn't make it I even printed off the directions. Just busy Job hunting and such resume after resume grrrrrrr. Oh yes I built a lot of stuff for members for my old club CFAS, still talk to alot of them.
  14. The tank build will start soon in 2 months I hope. I have to go get tanks out of storage, which is at the beach. Then drilll the cube, put rock together then start some flow. I have LED's built allready and all other goodies. I just need a few minutes to get together and make it pretty. Also I am married beautiful wife and one 5 yr old girl. Woodworking is a big thing for me, I get into it way to much.
  15. So were is all the reef stores located, I am near King st Alexandria? I will try and get some pics of my old set up. It was a 120 gal rimless not too sexy but it was nice. New one will be a little smaller just under 30 gal cube 20 gal sump 5 gal ATO LEDs vortech mp10 and one day a Cal reactor.
