  1. I got the rlss 8i and have the same problem with removing so I just attached a skimmate locker.  I like what you did glueing that one acrylic piece to get more torque and turn that darn cup.

  2. So I have a 250W Jaeger Heater that is about a year old.  It is controlled by my Apex system that is plugged into a shockbuster GFCI.  Went I went to view my tank, I noticed that the lights were out and the room was silent.  I checked the GFCI and found out that it was tripped.  Attempted to reset it and tripped immediately.  I systematically started to unplug the equipment from my EB8s and the first one I unplugged was the heater.  Reset the GFCI and the system restarted.  Plugged back in the heater and the GFCI tripped.  Needless to say I took out the heater and immediately put a backup heater not connected to the Apex system.  So far everything is working ok and will troubleshoot more if it in fact with the heater or a fault with the EB8. all other plugs on the affected EB8 are working.   Wondering if anyone else experienced this?

  3. I have seen Taiscici's reef and what he does works.  It is phenomenal!  I am following his advice (carbon dosing).  Used zeovit before and gave up.  Also tried biopellets and had issues with clumping.  Now I have been carbon dosing for a couple of months and patienty waiting but essentially easy using a brs dosing pump to carbon dose.

  4. I got my Leopard Wrasse from Marco and an Elegance from Richard. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS UNMATCHED! Marco went out of his way to meet me to get my Leopard Wrasse. And the fish is doing great and eating well! Where else can u get this special service! I got my elegance from Richard at the summer WAMAS meet and is doing great! Thank u for contributing to my piece of the reef!

  5. Sorry to hear about your problem.  It is atypical for Neptune to be unresponsive.  When I had a similar problem, they suggested that I buy a power supply for the controller.  I was switching controllers from one tank to the other and in doing so, I experienced a problem similar to yours.  Once I did that I was able to see the controller and from there they were able to help me.  Not smart enough then to reconfigure the controller which I believe that is what they did and everything worked from there.  Quantum Reefs may have them but I got mine at Radio Shack.  Just make sure you get the specs and bring your controller to ensure you get the proper connector.

What I think happened:  You lost power to controller and the controller rebooted and consequently relabeled your EB8.  Once that happens, the controller stopped communicating with the EB8.  To fix this you need to access the controller with a dedicated power supply and remove the eb8 modules and have them rediscovered.  Follow the instructions when doing this.  Hopefully everything works.  Once you get it to work, save the configuration for future use.  Hope this helps.
