Thanks Justin Will keep an eye on the swabbie. I did not know that the exposed epoxy was how the pump was made. The need for a back is not a big deal for me. My first impression of the 2500 that is currently on it was "hey that looks broken" Glad to hear the history of the unit I have. still working on the fish room and hope to have all up and running by july. will send the swabbie in if I notice issues.

I agree with the july 2010 model. The proportions on mine seem different. Not sure if its camera angles or what. My collection cup seems huge. I do feel better that it will be sized well for my setup. I'm going with a 125 instead of the 150 due to tank depth. and then I plan on having a 135gallon sump that will most likely have something shy of 100gallons.

I bought a used skimmer and wondered what model it is.... is this the CS1? I also ordered a new pump today because you will note in the one photo that the sicce wire has the insulation coming loose. Was there ever a cover on the back of this pump? the baskside looks to be missing something.
