Duuhhhhh.........I mean sounds like your tank is very well established and could handle one of those amazing fish!

What happened to the mantis shrimp?
After rescaping the right side we never saw him again. And all the inverts we have added have survived....except a small peppermint but that was eaten by the arrow crab.....so I think he is gone!
Did your fire shrimp ever come out and play??I had one - he had lived in a tank previously. He loved to come out and nibble on my fingers; and so I fed him that way - and he liked it even more!
He only sneeeeeeks up out of the back after I drop pellets in, he wont come out if I do a cyclopeez feeding though. I have tried hand feeding but he is afraid, but I think some of it is the fact that I have a skunk cleaner, fire, arrow crab, and sally lightfoot all in the tank. The fire shrimp has just chosen the back cavern area that is hidden by the few rocks in the the front. still alive though.
Thanks for looking!

I know it sucks but hang in there let it cycle.
the bag of carbon just sitting in the sump? water flow through it?

No new pics but........
5 Months!!!!
I really need to change the name

I was going to suggest the cleaner shrimp, and a giant conch!
It will be exciting to read up and watch this come together, unfortunately the KK touch tank is slow going right now trying to clear everything through the school. So many allergies and a multitude of other health issues to work out, but I am determined!
Good luck

I have a used JBL Compact PC light that I used for my 40G breeder that I no longer need now that I have my T-5 set up. U want to buy it ?
Thanks for the offer but want to go bigger!!!
Jason I will think about it!
Anyone have a used 36'' tek?
-
before switching over to halides I ran the Aquatinics Tx5..would highly reccommend it..
I think I would need to go used on either teks or these to keep within realistic budget, other options like the nova looked like good deals but tek and the aquatinics look better.

The thing with retro is that I have no hood so it would involve some slight construction. Budget is on the low end but I would also be willing to spend a bit more to get what I want. I will have the lights on my 65g tall at first than i will be using them on a 40g breeder so the depth wont be as great.
-
Was wondering if anyone kows a non retro/diy T5 setup that is worth the money. I have a 65g tall so 36'' light fixture. any and all suggestions are welcome. I would like to have everything, sps, soft, zoas, clams!

I know it is one female, and I think that it works as the rest male

My RBTA split!!!!!!!!!!! It was about 8'' accross and is now 2 nice little 4'', I like them much better than the one.
Now I must say goodbye to WAMAS for the week... ...finals!

Pretty good... the cup I used ended up not being so great. I need a frag rack or something, because it had a LOT of crap buildup in the bottom. I think my tang was using it as a porta-potty.
That's funny...... Jason had a guppy breeder with some rubble in the bottom. I don't know how it has been working out but it looked easy enough to get detritus out of and had good flow through it.

SAV isn't the same as hydro

I had an emerald crab eat all my fish in a tank before I am 100% sure it was an emerald crab. I've also had hermits eat fish....In my opinion it has to do with size of the fish vs handicap vs abush point vs crab. Anyway I've actaully seen my zebras or redlegs chasing my shrimp for hours...Smaller tanks seem to be more vunerable for this:(
You saw this happen?
-
yeah I love the limpets I have found 2 different that just came in on LR or frags. Does anyone know if they can be purchased? price?
-
I haven't had any problems, and also everyone always see's the crab eating not killing a fish!
-
I like the pics of the clown....she is bigger in person!
-
try putting a tile in and save them once!
-
I voted (TOTM) last month after I got my RBTA from you. guess everyone else is jumping on the band wagon now!

Direct feeding works for my palys, but it's not a good scientific result. One colony of palys is higher up, so I fed them. Another colony is lower down, and I can't easily reach them. The higher ones grow a lot faster... but it could because of light, flow, or any number of factors.
How are your cut shrooms doing?
-
Thats a neat idea, I can get much the same effect by cutting them. I was wondering if direct feeding with something, or dosing something would word.
do you mean to speed up the healing process after cutting?

pm sent about maxi-jet mods

I have a nice big RBTA that has at least 2 forked tentacles on it.

Here's a few-
disqualified you doubled up!
high alkalinity
in General Discussion
Is the pH raised at all?
Are your Calcium levels where they should be?
I would say let it settle out, if your pH is okay then just small H2O changes over a few days and natural usage to bring it down.
