  1. I had good luck with mine cleaner until last week when he decided he wanted to see what life was like outside the tank. I had him for 7+ months in my 33 and last week I took the canopy off for some cleaning but didn't put it back one when I was done. I came back later that night and found him on the carpet. :( He was real cool and lucky for me would eat anything he could fit in his mouth. He would eat live brine, frozen foods, flakes, even some of the coral phyto mixtures I put in the tank. He was always the first one to go after the food and even has tried to clean my arm a couple of time when I had it in the tank. I would definitely get another one again when I get my larger tank set up.

  2. Just wanted to throw out a big thank you to David the owner of Filter Fine Aquatics. :) I got to meet him this weekend when I went to his house to pick up the "Reef Choice PhosBgone" and the "Reef Choice Carbon." Thank's for the tour of all you beautiful tank, I hope to have a nice set up like that one day in hopefully not too distant future. It was great talking to you and I look forwards to using the 2 products I got from you along with the sample of "Reef Choice Kalkwasser" you gave me.

    Thanks,

  3. I just added a 96 gallon to my 50 gallon system. The 50 had a few fish & corals. I let the new 96 cycle on it's own with stinky sand from another tank. I mixed-up a large container of filtered water & salt to the same SG os the 50. I did small water changes daily on the 50 and put the old water right into the 96. Once the 96 cycled on it's own; which was relatively quick with sand from another tank and much of it's water from the 50, I then open the connection between them to just a trickle for a few days as an extra precaution. I now have 140 in the system and all are happy. Just my $.02

Nice, Thanks Larry. :) Glad to her it worked out well for you I will be hooking everything up as soon as I get my return pump in the mail which should hopefully be today.

  4. Hi all,

I am trying to add a 20 gallon frag tank to my current system which has about 50 gallons of Saltwater in the system. My question is is it ok just to add another 20 gallons of new saltwater to the system or can it cause any issues?

    Thanks,

  5. I live right next to them and Have been there many time and I can truthfully say I have no complaints about them at all. I am there every week buying live brine shrimp for my fish and have also bought many fish from them, which were reasonably priced, and all, except maybe one, have survived and have been disease free. Chris is a very nice guy and every time I go in there He is always very friendly and helpful to me just today I was in there buying brine shrimp and he gave me a couple portions and only charged me for one. He even just told me to not worry about paying him today and just remind him the next time I am in there to charge me. I got to say them and of course Aquaco are my favorite stores to go into for healthy goods. I would go talk to chris and you will see he is a nice guy who is just trying to keep the family business taken care of and running. This is just my opinion and I will continue using them as long as they keep selling healthy fish that I know have a high probability of surviving unlike many other store around the area.

Sorry guy's I forgot to add Blue Ribbon Koi to that list as they are ones that I like and use. :)

  7. Ya he is I have bought many frags from him off of ebay and every time I go to his store to pick them up I end up getting more things. He has a great collection at good prices and I definitely recommend if you haven't done so already to take a trip to his store and check out some of the cool things he has.

  8. Just wanted to let everyone know I swung by and saw John and he took care of me. It was the first time meeting him and he was a very nice guy!! I ended up getting a potters angle as a replacement along with a bunch of shrimp. I want to thank John again for taking care of me in this situation as many stores would not have and I really appreciate it!! :)

  9. First off I would like to reccomend everyone quarintine their fish no matter where you get it from!

Second, Ich is a stress related illness that is very common when fish are moved, and is always a risk when a fish transported into a new enviornment.

Third, our current fish system is being treated the exact same way our old fish quarintine system was, hypo salinity, great water quality, and good feeding regimes, only this time we added a monster 400 w VIPER UV, which will kill any protozaon that flows through it, and that is every drop of water in this system 6 times an hour.

Fourth, come in and see me and I will work something out with you.

    John

Sounds good John I'll try to swing by tomorrow and see you. Thanks for your reply.

  10. Hi all,

I just wanted to give everyone a warning to make sure to quarantine any fish they get from their new location. I bought a flame angle from the around december 21 and after taking him home and getting him into one of the tanks I notices he had white spots on him, Ich. :( I had been treating him to try to get healthy until last night when he died. :( No I am hoping nothing happens to my black clown that was in the same tank. Don't get me wrong I have gone to the old blue ribbon koi location many times and got some nice things, including the black clown, with no problems what so ever which is why I am so disappointed when this happened. Now I am out of a nice flame angle and $40. :( I guess this is a good time to start a quarantine tank for my self to avoid putting my current fish in any danger.
