  1. I just do a 2 min freshwater dip.

Most people don't have the time or desire to keep thier QT tank in prestine condition. If you do and it's water parameters match your tanks that there is no reason not to use. I just think that this is rarely the case and most people neglect thier QT tank and have poor water params in them.

  2. I have mine hooked up to my incoming COLD water line via a splitter designed for RO/DI units. Then I just drain the waste water into the washer bin. I have a large tupperware container that collects the purified water....

Has worked great for me, just a little inconvienent carrying the filtered water up the stairs for water changes.....

  3. Well for me it was just looking at the hobby for a larger perspective and the impact the hobby has on our natural environment, the good and the bad...

Thinking about how involved (or not involved) regulatory agencies can/could be.

And also knowing that we as hobbiest have a say in what is acceptable and what is not in the hobby.

It was also interested to think that hey what if our supplies were unable to manufacture certain products anymore. Something as simple as a pump could be devastating to the hobby and possibly domino down to the supply of the worlds fish and corals....

I have always leaned on the side that what we are doing is great and how we can actually add the supply of corals that could potentially become extint in the natural env but yet possibly build a sustainable env for them in our homes; possibly one day reintroducing them to the wild, just crazy/random thoughts....

Another thing i was thinking about the other day was how just from learning how to breed clownfish in captivity has probably added great diversity to their species. I for one have been on many dives and have never seen an all white perc or some of the crazy patterns that have evolved, have u? : )

  4. yea i saw that too. Anyone know if the video will be availbe on the site. I had to skip out a little early and would love to hear what else anthony had to speak about and i agree. Definately gave me a new perspective on the hobby...well adiction....haha.

  5. Forgot to mention that i'm up for trades, looking for sps, clams, blasto, possibly others....

Also for my "crappy" pics see my gallery....

I have Bright Orange cap, Light highlighter green cap, Deep bright green cap, & Idaho Grape Cap frags available for meeting. All these strains were obtained from "copps" about a year and a half ago. The highlighter has grown to a whopping 13x10. It is HUGE.

Anyways, I have one pack of all 4 available for $60. They are all about 3x3. The idaho will be fresh cut but the other 3 have been encrusting to rock for about 3 months and are doing awsome. The red cap is starting to scroll at edges.

I also have $5 frags of the deep green and red available that are on plugs 1/2x1/2.

I have 2 $10 frags of deep green on plugs 1x1.

I can also do fresh cuts of any of them at a certain size upon request.

3-4" carpet anem, tan w/ very slight green tint: $30

rock with 2 maroon fuzzy shrooms, 4": $15

4-5" rock with 1 maroon fuzzy shrrom with bright bright green tips: $15

If you think any of these prices are off let me know.

  7. stopped by for the 1st time on my way back into town.

great range of selection, frags from $5 all the way up...very nice stuff available and the $6 ric deal was great....

i will definately be back on my next way back through that area...

    Very nice set-up..

  8. I was just there today, they cleaned up a lot of thier coral tanks and had the largest selection of sps i have ever seen there. They had a bunch in the back and they almost never have any back there....

  9. Since we are on the topic of roozens...

Is there a comparable alternative or any alternative for that fact of the matter for people to go to who live in SOMD???

  10. I personally love going to roozens but yes the tanks "looks" have taking a dive over the past 6 months or so and the "SPS" & Clam tank has always been a complete mess.

I also like dealing with Jos much better than flannel harry, lol....I found that harry was feeding me a steading dose of bull on multiple occasions...plus i think jos prices things much better.

It is certainly not the place to go if you are looking for SPS but if you want to see a nice variety of some really rare fish in the hobby, i would recommend it.

I have bought virtually all of my fish there and have only had 1 not make it. You just have to use good judgement of which fish you purchase. You can look at thier fish and tell which are doing really well and which are not.

Also, if i ask if they have something and they don't, 9 times out of 10, the next time i go they have a dozen of what i asked about...

  11. Maybe the guy was conincidentally conveniently located by him or maybe someone he has worked with in the past and he didn't want to hastle with setting up a meeting point, ect, ect....

Then again, i can still see your point if this is not the case...
