  1. I have a 120 and 90 tied into the same sump. I have a Bashee sump that has a fuge and holds 3 filter socks that I was running. I also bought a Trigger Platinum 39 with Filter roller to use. I have since realized I hate using filter socks and wasn’t sure about the roller mat. I wound up selling the Trigger and pulling the Bashee and buying a 40 breeder. My only filtration at this point is my Skimmer and 120 watt UV. The Skimmer is in the sump and the UV is beside the tanks on a shelf. I do run carbon from time to time but the reactors are external as well. I didn’t add baffles to the 40 so flow through is fast a very little detritus builds up and the sump is very easy to clean now. I feel this is the best sump setup I have had so far. I could add a stand alone filter roller if needed but I don’t see that happening.

  2. Royal gramma

If you have nice caves they will hang under your structure upside down all day long. Pretty cool fish. I would add a nice bristle toothe tang rather than others. They stay smaller and they graze all day long.

  3. I am in Md and very far from most of the events but I contnue to pay dues because I think this club is great. I dont know and havent met most of the members but I still chime in and get the help I need when I post. In fact I just sold my sps coral and had a way better turn out from WAMAS than my local club, as far as selling my corals. I think only a couple from my local club came through but many made the trip from this club. I think you cant go wrong with joining.

  4. I dip all new corals with Lugols. I just dump it in till water turns red and let it sit for 10-15 mins. I once forgot some zoas and they sat in it for over an hour with no ill effecs other than taking a little longer to open up. But for Kent Marine Lugols solution heres the correct way to do it.

In a seperate container add 40 drops of Lugols solution to a gallon of aquarium water and immerse coral for 10-15 minutes.

I like Kent lugols and reccomend it over normal Kent and other Iodines.

  5. I would use all 3 holes to feed the pump. You would be surprised at the suction they can have. Just return all lines over the top. As far as pumps go, I like the Sequence pumps. Maybe the dart but I do think they could handle the pressure of the squids. It would be nice in the future to get a Oceans motion 4 way to run your closed loop. Can you tee off your return to feed your fuge?
