Listening to you on Rappin with Reefbum! Congrats on the great YouTube collaboration with him! For those of you that haven't listened/watched yet, go check it out and support one of our local hobbyists!
Thank you for tuning in! Going in we were ready to share some youtube content creation ideas that I picked up through the years, we ended up just talking mostly about the reef tanks, lol. It was a nice chat!

Here is a thread I came across in their FB group, in case you’re not in it: https://www.facebook.com/groups/168117720788273/permalink/864723981127640/

Just a quick check, you are connecting your Alkatronic to 2.4 ghz Wifi right? Some Wifi uses the same name for 2.4 and 5 and I think Alkatronic only works with 2.4.

I dont remember that! But we were, I believe, the only ones in the area selling SPS. It was right near 355 and 370.
Ahh sorry, wrong store! You are the one with the darkened fish room -- it was like going to a underwater movie theater each time visiting!

Random question - does anyone remember Marine Care Specialists off Rockville Pike near 355 in the mid to late 90s? It was my first job in high school and to my knowledge the only saltwater store in the area. Asking for nostalgia's sake.
Was that the store with circular viewing port for the fish tanks? (or was it square or tall tanks) I remember it being very high-end

This is some next level automation. Did not know about Flow-lok leak detector, my basement carpet thank you for this!

I also ordered the Avast auto feeder then saw your Avast auto feeder YouTube video. Great job. If you are interested, I can show you how to program the GHL to dose precisely the amount of food you want at whatever times you want. Just let me know...
Thank you for the offer Mark! I actually took the GHL Mini offline since, I wish I saw yours and others' offer/instruction sooner! What I ended up doing is creating a Routine with my Amazon Echo and paired it with a Kasa smart powerstrip, with this combo I was able to achieve seconds timer. I may get back into the controller game down the road, for now I'm leaning on the good 'ol smart plugs!
Again, thank you!

Have been watching this for years, glad it finally came out! Just pre-ordered.

I have a Coral Box DCA 12000 (~3000g/h) if it fits the bill, it has a few pair of adapters and one pair seems to measure 1.5", can send photos w/ measurement to double check if you're still looking. Will in the Rockville area tonight and at meeting tomorrow.

I'm 6 weeks in on Vibrance and I am a believer. Knocked out all the hair algae after 3 weeks and the bubble algae has really receded compared to what I had before. I was also warned of overdosing so I am pretty conservative on the dosage.

Yep, there is no restriction on water for animals. These are the pages I had printed and on hand going through TSA:
https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/items/live-coral
https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/items/live-fish
This also mentions fish:
https://www.tsa.gov/travel/travel-tips/taking-your-human-plane-what-every-pet-needs-know
And actually looking at the website again, they no longer explicitly state that the rule is waived - but it is. I suggest calling ahead, getting someones name, etc.
This quote used to be on the website "Live fish must be transported in a clear, plastic, spill proof container. In this case, the container may be larger than 3.4 ounces. A Transportation Security Officer will visually inspect your live fish at the checkpoint."
I guess they deleted that part as a way to cover themselves in case someone brought excess amounts?
I thought I remember seeing the "container may be larger than 3.4 oz" wording before as well, and for the life of me I could not find it again.

Very cool story, the shots of your clown + nem in a water bottle is priceless.

Picking up at meeting, also picking up for arking_mark

Ok folks we are approaching the winter meeting. Please PM me for my PayPal so I can keep track of everyone who has paid. Supreme Reefs will not be at the winter meeting so I am going to pick them up the day before. I will put them in their own QT tank for the night. I will rebag them the morning of the meeting and bring the frags to the meeting to hand out. For those of you who are picking up at my house, you will now be able to pick them up the night before or the night of the meeting.
I will take a few pics after I put them in QT for the night just so everyone sees that they are all single polyps. Hopefully there will be no advantage to picking one over another. Let me know if you plan on picking them up from my house and when.
Said you cannot receive new msg, mailbox may be full?

If you are not 100% set on that size, and willing to change dimensions slightly to be able to get a standard tank Deep Blue makes a 24x24x30 tank. Should be much more affordable than custom, and quicker timeframe.
Thanks for the recommendation, I am restricted on volume since it's for an online < 25g nano tank challenge, I may look into a standard sized tank though if the cost and turn-around time cuts into the contest too much!

Jeff (screen name Naga) from Pimped Out Aquariums builds custom glass tanks locally. He's out on the east side of the Beltway.
Thank you Tom, I will reach out to Jeff!

Looking to buy a 14" x 14" x 28" column glass tank (also open to 12" x 12" x 24"), wondering if anyone could recommend a local shop that builds glass tank before I look online?
