  1. Forgot I still had this. I listed it for sale a long time ago, but not any real interest. Came across one of the boxes it is in today and thought I would offer it up for free.

More info can be found here.

It is a great skimmer, I just don't see myself ever setting up a tank large enough to need it again. This thing takes a really big pump to drive it. I have the "classic" model of the 830, also have the waste collector and the injector housing. It has sat for a long while so it might need new o-rings.

I live in Point of Rocks MD and not much spare time these days, so if you want it you have to come to me.

PS, I HAVE GOTTEN SUCKY MESSAGES FROM PEOPLE IN THE PAST WHEN I GAVE SOMETHING AWAY AND THEY THOUGHT THEY SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN IT FOR WHATEVER REASON, SO IF BY CHANCE I GET LOTS OF PEOPLE THAT WANT THIS, I MIGHT MAKE PEOPLE GUESS NUMBERS FOR IT OR SOMETHING.

  2. I was at EA in Baltimore yesturday (Thursday 02/01) and they had one. I think it was $150.00 but I cannot remember for sure. I don't know if they had more than one though, it was not something I was looking for so I really didn't take much notice of it.

  3. Hate to sound like a wet blanket, but I really think the meetings are too large to try and have everyone introduce themself Mickey Mouse club style. I would think it would eat too much time, not to mention that it is sometimes hard to hear when people have questions. To go around with a mike would add even more time.

  4. Somewhat off the main theme, but who here is concerned about the pending Electric rate increases Maryland residents are facing? Is anyone planning to reengineer their set ups in an effort to be more efficient.

  5. CMAS had a speaker focus on Octopus at one of their meetings a little while back. You might want to check their site for more info. It was very informative, but as I recall what 143gadgets posted is correct. They have short life spans, (less then 12 months I think).

  6. I was also looking at a used ETSS 800.

I had one of these a few years ago. IMO it is a good skimmer, I was never unhappy with the performance, but it is a PITA to clean and can be one of the more difficult skimmers to adjust. Not at all difficult to set up, but anyone who says it is "plug and play" has never used one.

  7. Would it be possible to start a new forum for product reviews? I have seen this on other boards, and thought that it might make things more orderly if those type of threads were all in one place as opposed to the general forums. Just a thought.
