Here's the event schedule for our winter frag event Jan. 31 - there was so much going on that we've extended the hours to run from 11-5: 11:00 Doors open 11:30 Demo 1: Dan Rigle/NCPARS, fragging corals 12:00 Demo 2: Larry Flint/NCPARS, tank drilling 12:30 Demo 3: Scott Bennett/NCPARS, setting up a calcium reactor 1:00 Anthony Calfo
  2. That Fish Place just sent out this flyer for the the Winter Frag Event. Two speakers, demos, talks, frags... it looks to be a good time for everyone! Feel free to pre-register at fragswapper.com, this is especially useful if you are interested in selling frags, pre-arranging trades or purchases, or just seeing some of the frags that people will have for sale/trade. Some folks from NJRC will also be on hand to promote MACNA. We hope to see you there!
  3. The North Central Pennsylvania Aquarium Reef Society will be co-hosting a winter frag event with That Fish Place/That Place (237 Centerville Rd - Lancaster PA). Date: January 31, 2009 Hours: 11-4 (hours may be extended) Speakers: Anthony Calfo and Steven Pro Unlimited frag trading and sales between hobbyists (you don't need to have your own corals to join in the fun) Demos (PAR and lighting; fragging; assembling a calcium reactor; tank drilling) Vendors will be on hand with product information (arranged by That Fish Place) Raffle Admission:* $5 for NCPARS members (individual or family), $10 for non-members (individual or family) (new members are welcome to join at the event) * Each paid admission will receive a coupon good for 20% off one item at That Fish Place/That Pet Place You may pre-register and pre-arrange trades ahead of time at Fragswapper.com.   4. FYI: As you may know, Something Fishy is right around the corner from the swap, and they are sponsoring our swap speaker. Todd (the owner) has let me know that they are willing to take requests and try to order in items for you to get at the store that day. If you are interested, please go to the website (toofishy.com) and drop him a note under "contact us." Also, the title of Anthony Calfo's talk is "A Call to Farms! A path for hobbyists towards zero reef impact" This lecture will embrace a wide range of topics including grass-roots hobbyist conservation options, small and larger scale propagation for profit and charity, and an overall focus on things reefkeepers can do to realize a self-sustaining hobby.   5. In case you didn't know, NCPARS will be having our fall swap on Nov. 1, just outside of Allentown, PA, and right around the corner from Something Fishy. The full schedule is below.
