mutley29 May 5, 2004 Share May 5, 2004 I have recently lost my 5" long skunk cleaner to my growing in audacity Flamehawk, i knew there was a risk but even my flamehawk used to go and get cleaned by him, which as you all know is very cool to watch. now, i have another cleaner in my refugium, but i'm not gonna sign his death warrant by putting him in my main tank. so i was wondering what a good replacement cleaner would be, have looked at the cleaner wrasse but a bud of mine has one that nips at his clam mantles, anyone else seen or heard of this? so my question is REPLACEMENT Cleaner ????? any help and all recommendations are appreciated, as my fish are looking a little frayed around the edges Anton [tom]
iceman May 5, 2004 Share May 5, 2004 Neon gobies work well as cleaners! I have several in my tank and they setup cleaning stations.
mutley29 May 10, 2004 Author Share May 10, 2004 I like Neon Gobies, but like the Cleaner shrimp my Flamehawk eats them, and i'm loath to get a cleaner wrasse as they nip at clam mantles. Any other suggestions besides removing the flame hawk. Anton rk]] [pcwin
Marty May 10, 2004 Share May 10, 2004 The flame hawk is a voracious predator. Very cool, but limits what you can keep with it. If you want a tank with more delicate inhabitants, remove the flame hawk or start another species tank for it.
