Orion March 21, 2013 Share March 21, 2013 Hello all, I currently have an 8 gallon Nuvo on a stand in which I am going to be replacing it with a 30 gallon Nuvo (think 2 times as big, same type of dimensions). The stand is rated for 55-75 gallon aquariums, and was from Petsmart. It's supposed to hold up to 900lbs of weight. My wife is concerned since the 30 gallon will be in the center of the stand, and the weight will not be evenly displaced around the edges. Thoughts? STEVE March 21, 2013 Share March 21, 2013 Without any center supports, I would not do it. Your wife is on the same playing field as I am....
Orion March 21, 2013 Author Share March 21, 2013 It does have a center support on the very bottom, but nothing in-between. I think I'm leaning towards no as well.
Omair March 21, 2013 Share March 21, 2013 Particle board. Not good. You can see the bowing with just that small tank. Can you run two beams of 2x4 and screw them into the top board from the inside?

Not very "handy" when it comes to modifying things. I think I'll just skip the idea.
Orion March 22, 2013 Author Share March 22, 2013 Oh and thank you all for your input. This forum is the best. I'm not really a fan of Innovative marine's stand, so I am going to see if the oceanic biocube stand will fit.
