F&Fmgr January 4, 2010 Share January 4, 2010 Ive used them and still do actually, I just prefer UV lighting or icecap for sure. The WP's give good color but doesn't really promote fast growth. Sean

Crisp I'd say, not yellow or red like other 10k's....personally I prefer the 12k's though.

ctreptow January 5, 2010 Share January 5, 2010 I put them in about 2 months ago when I restarted the reef after a tank leak. They are much brighter then the uvl's I replaced. The bulbs are very nice but I can't speak to growth yet since I just restarted the system. My Setup is 5 54W on IC 660 ballasts Wave Point Sun Wave 12K Wave Point Super Blue 460 UVL Actinic White Wave Point Super Blue 460 Wave Point Coral Wave Purple The color is great and coverage seems even across the tank. Wondering which way would people configure their bulb set up? since i am getting two 12 k's, should i run those inside or outside? or does it make a difference? inside outside 10K ---------------------------12K 420K -------------------------420K 460K -------------------------460K 12K----------------------------10K LED----------------------------LED 12K----------------------------10K 460K--------------------------460K 420K--------------------------420K 10K----------------------------12K
El Camaron January 7, 2010 Author Share January 7, 2010 Bump, does it matter which way the bulbs are arranged in the fixture?
rsarvis January 24, 2010 Share January 24, 2010 Why are these bulbs so much cheaper than other brands? In my experience, the bulbs I get (36"/39W T5s) are in the $17-23 range, depending on day/white/blue/actinic. I'd love to hear that these are just as good despite being 1/3 the price. Am I missing something?
