Looking for a doser?

That's a lot of savings over the standalone Profilux. I have the Profilux controller and doser and their products are worth the cost in my opinion. This knockoff unit provides a more affordable way to go which is cool as long as they work ok and provide consistent amounts.

I plan to do a write up after it is up and running, and I have some feedback. I read that article back in Sept. and was still looking for one. The only real negative was their opinion.

There are some hospital pumps on ebay for 60/80 shipped all you need is the double drip lines and you have a great 2 part doser .......

I LOVE MINE AND THE DOUBLE line last about a year before i replace them.

I WOULD BUY 2 OF THE HOSPITAL pumps before i would get anything else as i prefer them.

I always thought you had to buy 2 to dose 2-part. Is there one that will drip both for $60-$80? Do you know what brand or have a link?

This could be a good deal for a brand new one. Make sure the tubing comes with it as well.

I bought a Cole Palmer one from a semi group buy from an eBay seller that Origami coordinated.

This is the one I got:

http://www.coleparmer.com/catalog/product_...2360&pfx=EW

With a single head:

http://www.coleparmer.com/catalog/product_...asp?sku=7720160

Brand new would have been like $2,000. We got them for about $100/ea. These are lab. grade peristaltic pumps. You can digitally control the flow from a Min flow rate of 0.6 mL/min to a Max of 3400 mL/min. <--- That's almost a Gallon per minute!!

The digital masterflexes were the score of the year IMO. I have three from the GB, but I took the head from one to make a double head on the other, so now I have an auto water change system and a spare (headless) pump. If anyone has one of these from the GB that they don't need, let me know and I will buy it :)

Tell me about Justin, I think we got very lucky. Thanks again to Tom for putting it together!

You can still find them online. Trust me guys these Cole Palmer Masterflex pumps blow the hobby type peristaltic pumps completely out of the water ;)

any feedback on the dosing pump?

Well I have only had it up and running about 5 weeks so far, but it works like a charm.

Extremely easy to program. You set the amout you want it to dose, and the amount of times in a 24hour period you want to dose. The internal programming spaces out the intervals based on your selection. You can also dose at a specific start time, and have it do it during a period of time. An example would be to dose PH up when the lights are off.

Dosing amounts seem to be spot on. I however have only tested at 5, and 20ML amounts. I tested as recently as this past weekend to make sure it is staying consistent, and see no change from my initial setting on day one.

The main unit seems to be built very well, and the display is very easy to read and understand. I was also pretty impressed with the mounting hardware that comes with the unit. It's built from both clear and black acrylic with 3/8" material. It also comes with a bracket that attaches to the tank that holds the other end of the dosing tubes all made from acrylic.

Because mine came directly from Hong Kong, I needed to get a power supply with the right plug ends.

The stand alone unit comes with only three pumps which is fine for dosing a two part, or balling lite system. Because I am still running the Neozeo system, I put in an order for the extra unit with 4 more pumps. I'm still dosing a few things by hand everyday which will be eliminated in a couple of weeks.

The unit is expandable to 11 total heads.

I give the unit a 5 out of a possible 5 stars and am totally satisfied.

If you have any other questions, shoot me a PM.

Mark

thanks Mark! that's what I wanted to hear.

I am thinking of getting one form Hong Kong as well.

Do you by any chance to have any pictures of the power supply plug? just wondering what kind of outlet I need before I get one.

thanks again

Jack

You just need a small power supply AC/DC converter. I am using one from on old Link SYS router I had. I'm sure Radio Shack has one as well.

You may need to do some checking around to find one. Fish Street says they won't have them until March.
