tonkadawg April 11, 2008 Share April 11, 2008 I remember when I got my RO/DI unit several years ago, I had to go through this process of 'tuning' it. Basically measuring the output over a short period of time. Supposedly this was to ensure I was getting maximum efficiency from the unit - in terms of amount of water and filter life. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
ErikS April 11, 2008 Share April 11, 2008 Yes - you want approximately a 4:1 waste to good ratio. That's about optimum. It's pretty easy to do with an adjustable restrictor - simply measure & turn. Not 100% certain how you do it without one (adjust the input I imagine). Also handy is a pressure gauge - you can use that to make sure you don't go over the limits of the membrane & damage it - about 90psi.
tonkadawg April 11, 2008 Author Share April 11, 2008 is that 4:1 waste coming out of the last stage (I think it's DI right?) ?
YBeNormal April 11, 2008 Share April 11, 2008 Anywhere after the RO membrane.
