Lee Stearns December 3, 2004 Share December 3, 2004 How many of those nanos do you still have running?- some of the pics were pretty nice- They are an ever changing environment- not static. Hope the clam does well- if not, it is simply a matter of watching closely and moving to your larger better lit tank- I the nano looks pretty good for now. Will have to get a picture of mine up on one of these threads. I have not tried to get sps in the Nano, only softies in mine- I did not want to have to watch the calcium and all the other params that close here at work where my nano is. There is no reason that your birds nest and clam do not do well in the Nano- many other folks have put it together and just keep a nano- I just found it easier to keep clams and sps in my larger system- bit easer to keep all their requirements met in the larger environment. Good luck and keep us posted on the changes you make to your system- and what kind of additives and schedule you end up with in keeping your system. Guest cjm033 December 4, 2004 Share December 4, 2004 o i forgot my schedule for maintenence. i do waterchange 1 time a week, feed cyclopeeze 2x a week, i only dose calcium, and top off every other day. there a 13 watt pc 50/50 and a 7 watt 72 k. i may change the 13 watt to actinic, im not sure yet. -Chris
Guest HVF21221 December 5, 2004 Share December 5, 2004 Why do you only dose Calcium? How do maintain Alkalinity? If you say water changes, then why dose calcium? It seems like a waste of money if you are dosing calcium but not adding anything for Alk. They are used in equal parts by our corals and clams. Just something to think about.
