  1. I'll PM you later I've got to hit the sack right now.

Are you going to respond to my PM Leishman? Maybe there is something wrong with my PM box or something I don't know....... It says 50% full and I haven't had trouble receiving other PM's but maybe there is some glitch going on with the board. Did you not receive my PM?

  2. A big thank you to everyone here at wamas. I appreciate all of your responses and offers for help. Thankfully I've found a temporary home for everything and am currently sorting out what is broken and what is not. I hope to have everything back in the tank in the next few weeks, we'll see what the condition of my water is tonight. I didn't have time to test sunday as I had already committed to a fo-thanksgiving celebration since several family members will be out of the country for thanksgiving. Fo-thanksgiving took all day :(

I will update soon as to the condition of my tank.

Lastly, the real stinger was I just ordered a nano 6025 stream for the tank that I couldn't wait to try out. It arrives in the mail today. I guess I'll have to demo it at a later date.

    Thank you again,

    Kyle

FYI; he doesn't check the board often. Livestock are in my 180 or 45 fuge/sump area. Hopefully everything will make it. The Crocea had ... um... shredded stuff coming out of its butt. Sorry I'm new to this whole clam thing :)

Hey keeps trying to attach to the glass bottom of my tank and I keep moving him. It's just the stuff they try to anchor themselves with you can cut it off.

  3. As the title states I've had a disaster. I've actually been luckier than I could have been. This travistry has not killed anything but has created a small flood (5 gallons lost I think) and blown a lot of my equipment (looked like an electrical fire actually started bf the water put it out and the circuit blew. The problem is the equipment that I have lost. I don't know how long it will take me to get my aquarium back to where it can sustain my corals. Here is my proposition to you. I have the following in my tank (no fish, just corals) that I need taken care of from somewhere from a week to several weeks. If you put them in your tank I will give some/parts of them to you.

    1 squamosa clam

    1 crocea

    1 pink birds nest frag

    1 blue/green acro frag

1 single polop of blue ricordia

    red cap frag

a rock of red zoos the size of someone's fist

about 7 orange zoos intermingled with a few green zoos

couple of snails (if you turn these guys away it won't break my heart)

NO FISH need homes bc I have none

White Xenia that I would like to live but if you don't want it in your tank I do understand

So if you can watch them for an unspecified amount of time while I get everything back together and running I will give you some frags, or whole corals, or money. We can negociate what exactly you want beforehand.

This would be a great opportunity for someone with a bigger tank bc you would barely notice these things as they are not very big. Then you can add some nice looking corals to your tank.

Please call me with interest in helping me out with this, while helping yourself increase your own coral collection.

  4. An ich outbreak happened last night. I'm going to put my 3 fish (maroon, royal gramma, and a pygmy angel) in a 5 gallon bucket tonight and dose copper to get them on the road to recovery. Does anyone that lives reasonably close to Ballston have a 10 or 15 gallon tank that I can borrow for a week? I was wanting to transfer them to a bigger tank for the week so they have a bit more room. I can buy a tank at petsmart for cheap but it's just a waste of money bc I don't have room to store it after I'm done treating them so I would have to throw it out (I live in a 700 sq. ft. apartment).

    Thanks,

    Kyle

  5. Wouldn't it depend upon the size fitting you use?

I don't know the size, but it's the same as size as those used in water filters for the home and on our RO/DI units. Home Depot sells a lot of quick disconnect attachments in this same size. Speed fitting I think they might be called????

  6. OH and if anyone is in Ballston and want to talk aquariums I'm right next to the mall, and ususally have some homebrew on tap. My tank's not impressive but I'm always working on it. 404kyle@gmail.com

  7. Few things before you running out for a bulb.  They might look like dumb questions, but sometimes they are the reason why things don;t work.

    Have you checked the following:

Is the Ballast Connected to the wall outlet?

Is the outlet powered AC 120V

    Is the ballast powered?

Is there current (AMP) from the ballast out to the bulb?

    Is the bulb broken?

    Is the sucket wired correctly?

Have you used a meter to test your wires, sucket, and ballast?

If you can quickly run down this questions, physically inspect the results, and answer NO to all the above, then you can run out for a bulb.. :D  if you want.

Yeah it's usually the simple things isn't it. I'm pretty good with cars so my friends often ask me to look at their car before they take it to a mechanic. I had one friend who's car wouldn't start. I looked at the gas gauge first and told him to put some gas in it bc he was on empty and his starter sounded fine. He didn't listen and had it towed :wall: sure enough he was out of gas.

I got it fired up, I'm not sure what it was. I pulled the ballast out, yanked the top off and checked the connections, plugged it in to see if anything would happen while I did this, it started up this time  guess something was loose, but I'm not sure what.

    Thanks for the advise,

    Kyle

  8. Hey guys my 175W MH isn't working over my 29, could someone let me borrow their bulb for a few hours so I can narrow down the possible problems? I'd be happy to return the favor in one way or another. For example I'm a homebrewer and if you like beer I could hook up a few pints of my upcoming pale ale :D
