Crap. I should have videoed it huh? I removed the patch he was infatuated with. I'm sure it will happen again if I can't get it under control. and will take some pics.
-
Yea. I was over feeding them before. But been doing it right for a while. I may try to wait it out first. Ugh.

Blenny Clown. 6 line wrasse. Flasher wrasse. Damsel. Pajama cardinal

With no food or lights. Will the fish be ok?
-
Let us know if you find out. But that's what's been growing in my tank.
-
I believe ya. But this stuff grows sooo fast and thick and wavy. Not to mention it's ugly.
-
Thanks. The water is from a ro machine. I know this isn't going to sound right. But after I installed a new power head it became like this. I have flow every where in the tank. This stuff seems to enjoy it. It waves back and forth at me. Today I removed the live rock that was completely covered and manually removed as much by hand as possible and did 20%water change.

That's what's over running my tank. Been pulling it off every couple days. About to order red slime remover
-
Cyano.
-
Yes. Unfirtunetly when I first started had no clue. Well still wouldn't say that I do. Ph is 8.4 no amonia no nitrite. But nitrate is showing .2
-
And is the clownfish ok doing this? It's consistently rubbing in it.
-
3 months and change. But it's spreading very fast. As soon as I remove some it almost doubles the next day. It's almost all over a live rock

Yes. He actually is rubbing all over it and won't stop. I have checked all levels are fine. I have reduced feeding to once a day and much less. The skimmer is doing its job. I have been doing water changes every 3 days and put another power head. But a week or 2 of this the cyno is actually spread everywhere. Growth has exploded. Anything I can do? I have removed as much as possible every few days. But now it's on the Clive rock. :(((((((. Someone help

Including media and everything.

Please show how you have set that up.
-
Ok. That's exactly the type of tank I want. Thanks. I will develop and hopefully have something that amazing soon.

I really want tons of corals. Maybe only 8 or 9 different reef safe fish. And not wanting sand isn't just a lazy factor. Seen some bare boo Tom tanks and think they look great. I just wanted to know if there is any negative impact if I go sandless
-
I love the sand too. But looking at long term and honestly from my research it will be easier for someone with less experience like me. Not to mention time and cost savings. But if I'm wrong please let me know
-
I plan on a higher flow. And still siphon the gunk. I just want to make sure that I would or would not need anything different if I decide on no sand. Grew up in Fairfax btw
-
As the title states. I think I would rather go with out the sand. But what are the pros and cons?
-
Thanks. Similar to what I was thinking. any recommendations on the filter? Or? Media ?
-
No pics yet. I have scraped and cleaned the tank and washed out the sand. Think I need 50 to 75 pounds of live sand? I have about 30 pounds of rock so thinking another 35 or 40 pounds of live? Anything you all would recommend ?
Cyno outbreak. Please help. Oh and the clownfish has decided to host a patch of it

Hey guys wanted to say thanks I have been doing 20% water changes every 3 days. I turned the lights off. But the tank in is my living room so it's getting light no matter what. Well less then the led ofcourse. So after 3 days of mid blackout. The cyano has not been growing and kinda turning black (much less in mass as well). Is that weird? Should I continues the no led thing for a while longer? Been 3 days?
