  1. Getting out sale. Moving and need gone this weekend ideally. 29 gallon Biocube that has been up since 2014. Two clowns that have been in the tank since 2014 and lay eggs fairly frequently. Male has a pop eye that he's had for years but seems healthy. They eat anything from frozen to pellets. LED light upgrade, moon lights, all softies (GSP, kenya tree, pink star polyps, etc).  Very stable tank. Comes with matching black Biocube stand in great shape, small sink size RODI, all equipment. Located in the Manassas/Woodbridge area. Not interested in parting out. $150 Thank you!

  2. Yes it isn't exactly taking over anything at this point. I think I can keep an eye on it and then see what happens. Appreciate all the info and advice! As always now I'm much more informed.

  3. Hmm ok. It's growing super super slow and is on a rock near the surface. Should I just try the peroxide drops when I change the water? Read about that as one possible treatment to get rid of it.

  4. Hi everyone,

For a few weeks now I've noticed this dark maroon spiky thing growing slowly on top of a rock. It's pretty small, maybe just over a half an inch total in width now. It's softer, not hard, but doesn't retract if you poke at it. Any ideas what this is?

    Thanks!

  5. Good luck on your cube! I too have a biocube and am learning as I go. A huge mistake I made was with a refractometer. My boyfriend is a homebrewer and I used his refractometer to measure my salinity. However, it wasn't calibrated to measure saltwater.  My target being 1.024-1.025 and it actually being about .35 ppm over. Best investment for me, my own refractometer with calibration fluid and an ATO. [/size]

Thanks! I've actually now had my tank up over a year and it's doing great. Love the hobby!

  6. I agree. I have a mp10qd on my 30 and love it. Several of the jebaos i owned before had issues. This is one aspect where you do get what you pay for.

Thanks!! Feeling like the MP-10QD is the way to go.

  7. Hello! I've had a Jebao WP-10 along with a Koralia 425 nano and my Maxijet 900 return in my Biocube 29 and am very happy with the flow. But, my Jebao has gotten noisier and noisier. It's on the setting where it turns on and off and you can hear the hum pulsing. Just annoying. Works fine though. Wondering if I should suck it up and get the VorTech MP-10 quiet drive? Pricy but seems good. Anything else I should consider?

    Thanks!

  8. Thanks Dave. I think you are right about the chitons. I looked them up and that looks like them. They do look like white roly poly bugs. Weird I have an explosion of them as I don't have much algae at all. I can see them not lasting too long. I feel better that they are reef safe at least.

  9. Ok so I've seen a few of these small white flatworm things come out at night in my biocube. Now all of a sudden I have a ton of them but at night only. During the day they disappear. They are maybe a little less than a quarter of an inch long. Between 1/8 and 1/4 inch maybe. Tank seems great. All corals, fish and anemones happy. What are these and should I be worried? Thanks!!

  10. It seems like I might as well go with the 180 if I'm considering the 125. Still need to confirm weight load on the spot I've got in mind. I don't think I'm ready to pull the trigger immediately but at least now I know what to start looking into more. I like to research and be prepared before jumping in on a new project. Definitely a fun prospect and I appreciate all those who chimed in!!

  11. Hi Marisa,

I'm not a DIYer either...lol. I wish I was!!! I do have a friend who builds houses, so I might have him come take a look. Talked it over with my hubby and we are both in agreement that the spot in the sunroom is good! it's right up against the edge of the house and he thinks it should be pretty strong there since it's not in the middle of the house. But I'd rather confirm with an expert first. :-)
